Stepping stones to sustainability. Based on the proven FCS 2710 design, the FCS 2710 Hybrid takes a step closer to sustainable sailing with the ability to operate fully electrically in port or while loitering offshore. At low speeds, the vessel is propelled by its electric motors, fed by a battery pack, enabling zero emissions operations. Even when operating at high speeds on its conventional propulsion system, the vessel offers increased efficiency, with the hotel load powered by the electric motors in reversed generator mode, avoiding running a separate generator set. #Damen #sustainability #innovation #shipbuilding

🚢  New milestone reached with the keel laying of NB 974 for Purus.   On November 22, we proudly celebrated the keel laying ceremony for NB 974 at Vard Vung Tau, Vietnam. This moment marks a significant step in the construction of one of two advanced Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOV) designed and built for Purus. NB 974 is an 87.7-meter Commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) of VARD 4 19 design, purpose-built for the wind farm industry.   At VARD, we are proud to contribute to a greener future by providing innovative, high-quality solutions tailored to the needs of our customers.
