A key milestone on our sustainability journey, Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) has achieved EU-BAT (European Union Best Available Techniques) certified standard, a leading environmental standard that requires industries to adopt the most effective technologies for minimising pollution and environmental impact. The certification procedure assessed APR’s compliance in energy efficiency, water and waste management, material usage, and air emissions. Attaining the EU-BAT standards not only reinforces APR’s position as a global leader in sustainable textile manufacturing, but also stands as testament to our progress towards our #APR2030 vision. “This milestone reflects APR’s ongoing efforts to implement responsible practices and reinforce our commitment to sustainability,” says Saleel Nayak, APR Operations Manager. “With this recognition, we are excited to expand our partnerships with organisations in leading markets that share our values.” Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/g7ytj-EF #APR #EUBAT #EnvironmentalProtection #Sustainability

Security, affordability, and sustainability. These are the three core issues faced by the Asia Pacific energy sector. At the World Economic Forum 2025, Ratnesh Bedi, president of Pacific Energy, summarised the energy trilemma—how issues of energy availability, affordability, and sustainability can be tackled by the private and public sector working closely together. By importing 1GW of solar energy into Singapore in partnership with TotalEnergies, establishing southern Europe’s largest SAF facility in collaboration with Moeve, and building the world’s first net-zero LNG facility at Woodfibre LNG, RGE is demonstrating how partnership is key in solving this trilemma head on. Watch the full video for more insight on how the private sector and the government can further work together to bring secure, sustainable electricity to Asia Pacific. #WorldEconomicForum #WEF2025 #Energy #CleanerEnergyStartsHere

Amid dual pressure from economic development and decarbonisation goals, three key concepts emerge as ways Asia can bridge the current energy and investment divide. In an article published on the World Economic Forum, Managing Director Anderson Tanoto emphasises three crucial mindset shifts: 1. Enhancing regional connectivity and cooperation in trading cleaner energy.  2. Shifting investment stance from risk aversion to seeking opportunity in clean energy initiatives. 3. Developing clear policies that build investor confidence in renewable energy projects. The endangered Flat-headed Cat (Prionailurus planiceps), a rare and elusive species, inhabits the peat swamp forests of Sumatra, Borneo, and Peninsular Malaysia. Little was known about its breeding behaviour until Restorasi Ekosistem Riau (RER) documented the first breeding record on Sumatra’s Kampar Peninsular. Using camera traps, RER captured a footage of a female Flat-headed cat carrying a kitten, marking a significant conservation milestone. This milestone has been published in CATnews, a scientific journal published by the IUCN. This discovery further underscores the urgent need to protect and restore peat swamp forests to preserve the unique habitats of the Flat-headed cat and other endangered species, because while we produce to feed, clothe and energise the world, we can also protect all that matters to us. Despite financial struggles, Laura Septia Ningsih from Indonesia’s Sering Village remains committed to education. As a 12th-grade student from Kerinci, Laura is one of the recipients of the scholarship programme from PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), part of the RGE group of companies. "I want to use this opportunity to pursue higher education and make my parents proud," said Laura. This year, RAPP awarded scholarships to 250 high school and vocational students across Pelalawan, Siak, Kuantan Singingi, Kampar, and the Meranti Islands. Additionally, 77 university students also received support. "This scholarship is a valuable tool for students to achieve their dreams," said Imron Rosyadi MT, Head of the Riau Provincial Government’s Welfare Bureau, calling the initiative a significant step toward improving youth and professional development in the region. His observation is echoed by the young scholarship recipients. "This scholarship brings me closer to my dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur. With it, hopefully I can continue to study until college," said Nandra Irawan, an 11th-grade student who received a scholarship at RAPP’s Community Development Centre. By alleviating financial burdens and helping the young generation achieve their dreams, we are opening doors to a future of endless possibilities. Wan Mohammad Jakh Anza, General Manager of Stakeholder Relations at RAPP, emphasised the scholarships’ alignment with the APRIL2030 vision, which prioritises inclusive progress through education. “We want to grow with the community,” he said. “Education is a long-term investment.” #CommunityDevelopment #Education #ScholarshipProgramme #APRIL2030
