#etime #somersetreset We officially launched the Somerset Reset Project, a six-month engagement campaign, with an exciting 2D1N camp at *SCAPE SG ! Check out how we transformed Ground Theatre into a stunning glamping site! This is all about ensuring that the future of Somerset Belt is built by youth, for youth, and with youth. Honored to represent *SCAPE as the spokesperson and incredibly proud of my *SCAPE team for bringing this programme to life. Over the weekend, *SCAPE played host to 30 youths in the first of three engagement workshops for Somerset Reset aimed at shaping the future of Somerset Belt precinct for both themselves and for the youth of the future. We saw lively tabletop discussions between Mr. Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Culture, Community & Youth, and the youths alongside the precinct development team and government agencies, all with the hope of evolving Somerset Belt to an evergreen space by youths, for youths, with youths! Stay tuned to the rest of our journey! Find out more about Somerset Belt and its developments 👉🏻 https://somersetbelt.sg
🇸🇬 Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Culture, Community & Youth, Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC
🌇Today, 30 youths joined us for the first of three engagement workshops for Somerset Reset, ready to shape the future of the Somerset Belt precinct! We spoke about the importance of remembering Singapore’s past, understanding the present, and planning for the future. 🇸🇬⭐️Just as our forefathers designed and planned for their fellowmen and Singapore’s future, our youths are doing similar work today - working together to design the Somerset Belt of tomorrow. 🏕️Kicking off with a 2-day 1-night indoor camping event at *SCAPE SG, they shared aspirations and collaboratively crafted the Somerset Belt’s story and visual identity, building on views and aspirations shared by >9,000 youth voices collected earlier in our Somerset Belt Master Plan. Ideas ranged from enhancing the sense of arrival upon stepping into the precinct, to interesting concepts like retractable roofs and underground malls! 🙋Our youths will work closely with the precinct development team and government agencies to design Somerset Belt into a vibrant space by youths, for youths, with youths. As we plan for today, we are also considering the youths of tomorrow. We want YOU to be a part of this journey. Past youths, present youths, and future youths – our 30 youths will be reaching out for your feedback. Also, don’t miss our interactive roadshow showcasing the exciting design concepts. 👉Check out https://somersetbelt.sg for updates! Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY)

It’s THANKS to Grinisha Kaur and the whole programming team at *SCAPE that comma is a success! ✨✨✨
Today marks a month since the beginning of our Creative Arts Festival, comma, at *SCAPE SG and its a bittersweet feeling to put a full stop to it. Through the process of helping to plan and execute a festival at this scale, I've learnt so much about what it takes to work well as a team; the importance of diving into something new with (at least a few) shared goals, communicating effectively, and showing each other grace. I'm thankful to have worked with people who focus on finding a way out of any obstacle. Most importantly, I've learnt that there are so many young people in Singapore who have been and who always will be doing fascinating and inspiring creative work. Platforms like *SCAPE and comma ensure that they don't need to be doing this work in silence, so I'm grateful I got to play my small part in all of this. Attaching some photos below of special moments from comma: 1. Graffiti spotted on my first day back at *SCAPE after the New Year! 2. A collage I did during the LOST ARTS FOUND Residency by PLAY! (@anyhowplayplay on Instagram). 3. Joined in on the Somerset Threads - Out With The Researcher! tour. I don't wake up before 11am on a Saturday for anything, but I've rarely been exposed to programmes like this which spotlight Singapore's lesser-known history. It was extra special to be able to bring my family along as well. 4. The view from backstage at HOMEGROUND - School's Out! I helped co-ordinate some aspects of this production, and taking a second to see the number of people who had turned up for it was kinda surreal. 5. Something I noticed as I gave the MOV:MENT Lab Exhibition one final check on the last night of comma. Here's to making sure young artists can afford to make creativity and expression their first priority. Till the next one!

🔊GGJ SG 2025 wouldn't be possible without the help of our sponsors!🔊 A huge thanks to our sponsors for choosing to make GGJ25 happen again this year – we've received so much help from many who truly believe in pushing for growth in the Singaporean and Southeast Asian game dev space. In this case, major thank you to #Xbox and Habby for continuing their commitment to help this community we love so much, through their support of our team and GGJ25. Not forgetting Twitch (Singapore) and Unity (Singapore) for sharing their generosity with our jammers through door gifts and lucky draw prizes, as well as The Iterative Collective for their neverending support, great advice, and yummy snacks. This year's physical venue would not have been possible without MAGES Institute and MILE3 for sharing their space with us this year. Here's to more physical game jam venues in future! Finally, much gratitude to our partners *SCAPE SG and Singapore Games Association (SGGA) for sharing our vision and creating opportunities for our jammers to make their dreams come true. Thank you Jun Shen Chia, Jamie Ng, Yaqing Li, Zhen Wei (Unity), here's to more Global Game Jams in future!
