About us

The Singapore Global Restructuring Initiative (SGRI) is a project launched by the Singapore Management University with the support of the Ministry of Law that seeks to conduct cutting-edge research on corporate restructuring and insolvency while fostering cooperation between academics, practitioners, judges and policymakers from all over the world. In order to promote these goals, the SGRI conducts a variety of activities, including: (i) Conducting cutting-edge research on insolvency and restructuring law. (ii) Promoting interaction between academics, practitioners, judges and policy makers. (iii) Providing updates on insolvency cases, reforms, and academic research through the SGRI Blog. (iv) Organizing academic events with a global, comparative and industry-relevant focus. (v) Working closely with associations of insolvency practitioners and turnaround specialists from all over the world. (vi) Teaming up with leading academics institutions from all over the world. (vii) Engaging in international discussions and policy debates involving initiatives and legal reforms in the field of corporate insolvency and restructuring.
