𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 On 4 December, the 11th Shipbrokers Forum (Shanghai) 2024 brought together global maritime leaders to explore 'Strategies for Shipowners & Shipyards in the Era of Transformation.' Synergy Marine Group was honoured to contribute to this prestigious event, with Subodh Borse, Managing Director of New Building and Offshore Projects, delivering a keynote address. With global trade patterns shifting and geopolitical challenges reshaping maritime logistics, the forum provided a vital platform for highly topical discussions. Delegates examined critical themes, including adapting asset management strategies to market volatility and managing the evolving trends among different vessel types. China’s continued dominance in shipbuilding, coupled with its status as the largest ship-owning nation, has emerged as a transformative force in the industry, a dual role that underscores China’s pivotal influence on the future of global maritime operations. Addressing the forum, Subodh Borse shared his insights on maritime decarbonisation and innovation. He first highlighted the role of alternative fuels, saying that “The journey to net zero emissions in maritime requires a pragmatic multi-fuel approach, with LNG, methanol, hydrogen and ammonia offering unique opportunities and challenges. Collaboration, scalability, and safety are key to driving progress.” He further emphasised the importance of operational efficiencies and technological advancements in reducing emissions, observing that these “are vital for reducing emissions, but their impact is maximised only when supported by robust regulatory frameworks and a shared global commitment to innovation.” At Synergy Marine Group, we are deeply committed to fostering collaboration and innovation as we tackle the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime industry. Events like the Shanghai Shipbrokers Forum & Gathering allow us to align with global leaders in order to shape a sustainable and resilient future for shipping. We extend our sincere gratitude to the organisers for hosting this impactful event, and we look forward to continuing our engagement in driving the transformation of the maritime industry. #WeAreSynergy #Decarbonisation #Sustainability #GlobalTrade #Shipbuilding #AlternativeFuels #Maritime #EnergyTransition

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 Marking the anniversary of the 2003 UN Convention against Corruption, 9 December draws attention to the damaging effects of corruption. Just as one example, when gifts are exchanged for smoother port calls, trust is replaced by risk, and integrity is lost. This year's themes—tackling corruption and its far-reaching consequences, and collective responsibility to combat it at all levels—are fully understood and comprehensively supported throughout Synergy Marine Group. Led by Group Chairman Captain Rajesh Unni, Vice Chair of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN), COO QHSE Captain Ramadass V, and MACN officer Capt. A. S. Synergy is relentless in grappling with dishonesty and vigorous in promoting anti-corruption training and effective worldwide practices that help safeguard seafarers. "Corruption in the maritime industry not only undermines fair trade but also endangers the safety and wellbeing of our seafarers," said Captain Ramadass Venkatarao "At Synergy Marine Group, we are unwavering in our commitment to integrity, empowering our crew to reject unethical demands and fostering a culture where transparency prevails over misconduct." Synergy Marine Group is one of 219 MACN member bodies and emphasises collaborative action in tackling corruption in all its guises. This was a core theme at the MACN Fall Meeting in Kuala Lumpur on 23–24 October and at the recent Synergy crew seminar in Kochi, where the MACN played a major role. Together, we remain steadfast in shining a light on misconduct, fostering a maritime industry built on trust, fairness, and transparency. #WeAreSynergy #AntiCorruption #MaritimeIndustry #Seafarers #GlobalTrade

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡" Launched in 2011, the Singapore Registry of Ships (SRS) Green Ship Programme (GSP) is part of the Maritime Singapore Green Initiative. It seeks to reward owners who voluntarily use low-carbon fuels and adopt energy-efficient technologies that enable Singapore-flagged vessels to exceed their IMO-mandated EEDI requirements. Organised by Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the annual SRS Forum allows stakeholders to get together and exchange views on current maritime industry challenges and opportunities, and Synergy Marine Group is delighted to say that at this 28 October event BoCom Leasing, the owner and operator of the Synergy-managed “ARCTIC TERN”, was awarded Green Ship Status under the GSP. Presented by the MPA’s Chief Marine Officer/Senior Advisor, Captain M Segar, the formal Green Ship Certificates are issued to the vessel and its registered owner. As well as receiving kind thanks for continuing best efforts in managing the “ARCTIC TERN", Synergy was greatly honoured to be asked to accept the Certificate on behalf of the owners and did so Fleet Manager Datharam Gambhira. It is very good indeed to get positive feedback as part of building a good ship management relationship, especially as part of further steps towards industry decarbonisation and sustainability and by being a small part of a wider enterprise in aid of the entire planet. datharam gambhira #WeAreSynergy #MaritimeGreenInitiative #Decarbonisation #Sustainability #GreenShipping #EnergyEfficiency #MaritimeSG

𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔𝗻 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝟭 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝘆 A dry docking means taking a vessel out of service. She will be off hire and cannot move cargo or earn freight. Much planning ahead is needed so that, as well as securing the best pricing, her managers get her in, secure verified performance of the work and return her to charter service as soon as possible, and optimally as regards her trading. This means detailed liaison between and among the various parties in the network commonly called the vessel interests, together with the yard itself, suppliers, tugs, pilots and all related regulatory and other authorities, and of course the vessel's crew. It also needs impeccable daily organisation during what can often be several weeks on the blocks, while everyone works together as repairs and upgrades are done and inspection and certification are performed, alongside the cleaning, blasting, repainting and refreshing that is usually the most visible sign of a dry docking. In addition to the extensive arrangements and hard physical work involved, a dry docking provides a unique opportunity for the crew to come together ashore, capturing memories and celebrating their achievements. Equally important, it allows the owners' representatives to step on board, observe the ongoing work, and engage in discussions with the vessel’s superintendent and ship staff. This collaboration further reinforces the bond of trust that serves as the cornerstone of the partnership between the owners and their vessel’s technical manager. As usual, all these things were much in evidence recently with one of Synergy's managed product tankers, before, during and immediately after her visit to China's Fuzhou Hudong shipyard from 19 August to 13 September. For the 'GREAT WHITE,' we are delighted to share a collage capturing camaraderie and teamwork as the vessel prepares to resume service. It’s an efficient pit stop—one that even the fast-paced, precision-driven world of Formula 1 would envy—featuring contented owners’ representatives mingling with happy and skilled officers and crew after a series of meticulously executed jobs. #WeAreSynergy

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗶: 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 In early October, we hosted another enriching Senior Officers' Seminar in vibrant Mumbai, following the success of the Dubai seminar last September. Organised by Synergy Denmark A/S, this gathering welcomed over 40 senior shipboard officers from India, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar, alongside shore teams from Denmark, Singapore, and India. We were privileged to have valuable contributions from the Maersk Tankers Team and esteemed owners, including Maersk Product Tankers CIO Claus Grønborg and Santosh Khosla Director, Head of Asset Performance Management at Maersk Tankers, whose perspectives were integral to our discussions. While Synergian families enjoyed local excursions, our officers engaged in thoughtful sessions on: 🔹 Leadership and handling challenging conversations; 🔹 Safety and fostering a culture of prevention; 🔹 Planned maintenance and operational efficiency; 🔹 Cybersecurity and its role in operational resilience; 🔹 Environmental regulations for sustainable operations; 🔹 Supporting crew mental health and wellbeing. The seminar was marked by case study collaborations and a dynamic Q&A session with a senior panel on Day 2, embodying the spirit of “People with Passion for Excellence.” These seminars highlight Synergy’s steadfast dedication to empowering seafarers and fostering innovation in an ever-evolving maritime sector. Together, we are navigating challenges, advancing sustainability, and strengthening the global maritime supply chain to shape a safer, more resilient future for shipping. #WeAreSynergy #OurPeopleMakeTheDifference #ShipManagement #MaritimeIndustry

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 🚢🌱 As we sail into the weekend—a time when many ashore select their vegetables from local markets, a convenience often taken for granted—our colleagues at sea are at last enjoying a similar privilege. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, crew aboard the Synergy-managed Suezmax “EFFIE MAERSK” now handpick fresh produce far from any port, transforming life at sea in remarkable ways. Since September, using three specialised units this crew has been growing vegetables and herbs. Supplied by innovators AGWA, AI, cameras and sensors regulate UV light, water and fertiliser, and maintain humidity, pH balance and temperature, so that the plants grow just right and yield about four bowls of snap-fresh salad a week. Less transport and storage and near nil waste make this another major step forward in sustainability, and fresh food with more nutrients offers another improvement in the onboard environment and crew wellbeing. Praising an initiative that also lessens GHGs, Synergy’s founder and Chairman Captain Rajesh Unni said "As a fellow seafarer, this initiative is close to my heart. High-speed internet access and shorter tours of duty are vital for seafarer contentment, but I've also seen how important fresh, nutritious food is to morale and wellbeing. Among today's increasingly health-conscious mariners there is a noticeable shift toward healthier, plant-forward eating habits, and Agwa’s technology allows us to serve fresher, healthier food on our managed vessels, directly enhancing crew welfare.” Synergy Marine Group hopes to be using these growing units more widely across its managed fleet in aid of better fare, happier seafarers and less carbon. 👉 For the full report, you can read more here (please note, access may require a subscription): https://lnkd.in/gQ_zrekg #WeAreSynergy #Sustainability #GreenShipping #AI #CrewWelfare #FutureOfShipping #ShippingIndustry #Decarbonisation #Seafarers

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 Widely celebrated on 20 November, World Children’s Day is UNICEF’s annual day of action for, and by, children. This year’s theme is "𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻," and few stories illustrate this better than what unfolded earlier this year on Synergy’s managed box ship, EVER GLOBE. Chief Engineer K.P. Venkateswaran had arranged for his daughter, Paruthiyazhi, to sail with him during her school vacation. During this unique voyage, he introduced her to the significant aspects of his role and its impact on the maritime industry. Paruthiyazhi, a seventh-grade student at Sri Chaitanya Junior College in Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, is a keen table tennis player with a deep interest in art, music, and especially nature. Like many youngsters, she initially held a negative perception of life at sea and prolonged tours of duty. However, with a focus on three key topics—air, oil, and ballast water—her Appa (Dad) explained how modern vessels significantly reduce, and even eliminate, environmental harm. He also highlighted how shipping, which facilitates 95% of global trade, is the most environmentally efficient means of transporting goods. An attentive listener, Paruthiyazhi was so inspired by these insights that she composed an engaging essay titled Green Environment in Blue Ocean. Beautifully handwritten on paper shaded to match its theme, the essay captures her newfound understanding of sustainability in shipping. Here, a proud and relaxed K.P. Venkateswaran embraces his daughter on the bridge wing of the EVER GLOBE. He was delighted to offer her this glimpse into life at sea, demonstrating the industry's efforts to combat pollution and seeing his work so well understood that she captured it thoughtfully in her essay, which is included here as an attachment. #WeAreSynergy #WorldChildrensDay #Sustainability #MaritimeIndustry #FutureGenerations #ShipManagement

𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 Synergy Marine Group was pleased to be invited to Hong Kong Maritime Week, in order to contribute to a panel discussion at the World Maritime Merchants Forum, hosted by China Merchants Energy Shipping Co. Ltd. Represented by Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Hoad, the panel explored "Decarbonisation in Container Shipping," addressing key issues such as the legislative environment, alternative fuel availability, transition periods involving LNG and green methanol, and the distribution of costs along the supply chain. Synergy is committed to delivering energy-efficiency vessel modifications and EU ETS savings, a service provided by our decarbonisation division, AZOLLA. We are also dedicated to preparing crews for the future by employing a variety of training methods, including LNG bunkering simulators and advanced digital tools. As one of the largest third-party managers of LNG-powered vessels, we apply this training and the insights gained from it daily, continually embracing the global shift towards greener shipping. In an environment where ship owners are responsible for carbon penalties under theEU ETS rules, but charterers are accountable for fuel consumption, it is essential to establish a single point of truth and transparency by means of digital high-frequency data on board. This clarity is crucial for building trust among owners, operators, charging authorities and cargo owners. Andrew emphasised that this digital requirement is part of the broader transformation of ship management services into new forms of technical partnerships—a trend reshaping the industry and one in which Synergy is playing a major role by effecting innovative and radical change. He noted that “Shifting from cost-based to value-based partnerships is redefining ship management, creating stronger and more collaborative relationships with owners and charterers.” World Shipping Council #WeAreSynergy #Decarbonisation #Maritime #Sustainability #ShipManagement #HKMW #EUETS #GreenShipping
