Temasek Poly - School of Design (TP Design)

We had the pleasure of welcoming over 100 students from 18 secondary schools to Temasek Polytechnic for our annual Design Camp. This immersive experience introduced participants to the dynamic world of design through interactive workshops, high-energy activities, and showcases of student projects at our Foundation Show. Campers also explored the potential of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in creative problem-solving through a hands-on challenge using generative AI applications. Accompanying teachers were equally engaged, attending workshops on GenAI’s educational impact and enjoying guided tours of our Interactive Digital Experiments with AI Studio (IDEAS). The event concluded with a screening of films produced by our Diploma in Digital Film & Television students, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE)’s Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism, promoting bilingual literacy among youths. Congratulations to ‘Team Backathon’ from TP Design for clinching 2nd Runner-Up at the PolyFinTech100 API Hackathon Grand Finals, held in conjunction with the Singapore FinTech Festival! Competing in the 'InsurTech' category, our interdisciplinary team, comprising students from the Diploma in Communication Design and Product Experience & Design, went head-to-head with other Category Champions, made up primarily of IT and Business students from other polytechnics. Organised by PolyFinTech100 and supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), this hackathon aims to foster the next generation of fintech talent. The Design Shop is officially open! Our launch was an incredible success, bringing together both past and current students to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit and creative talent. Featuring 20 independent designer brands for now, The Design Shop is more than just a boutique gallery – it’s a space where alumni and students unite to share their passion for fashion, prints, and lifestyle creations. From the latest collections by emerging designers to exclusive handmade pieces by alumni, the shop is a testament to the vibrant creativity and innovation within our TP design community. It’s also a great platform for young entrepreneurs to connect with industry veterans, gain exposure, and grow their brands. What an incredible day it was at GENERATIONS!   In celebration of Singapore Design Week, TP School of Design welcomed over 300 passionate educators, students and industry professionals to GENERATIONS—a vibrant, full-day exploration of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI tools are revolutionising the future of design education.   The event kicked off with curated workshops exploring the exciting futures of learning, work, play, and experience.
