During the panel “Getting Everyone on Board: Strategies for Hotel Chains,” our Chief Financial & Sustainability Officer Siew Kim Beh shared insights into Ascott’s ongoing journey to embed sustainability across the organisation. She highlighted our holistic, company-wide approach to instilling a sustainability mindset and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Through regular in-house training, we’ve empowered sustainability champions across our global teams, encouraging every employee to contribute actively. The Ascott Centre for Excellence has also partnered with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) to offer #sustainabletourism courses for hospitality professionals, driving industry-wide change across the sector. Adeline Phua, Ascott’s Managing lyf Partner, also participated in the panel on “Alternative Accommodations,” where she highlighted how the lyf brand integrates its experience-led social living concept with community well-being through sustainable designs and community-based programming, ensuring both success and business longevity. “It is in your hands to make a better world for all who live in it.” – Nelson Mandela 🌈 Last month, over 150 volunteers from our team in Singapore helped make Children's Day at Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School extra special. The Rainbow Centre envisions a world where persons with disabilities live Good Lives – lives that are empowered and thriving. Aligning with The Ascott Limited's sustainability programme, Ascott CARES, we were humbled by the opportunity to support the local programme, one of many initiatives to reinforce our commitment to building resilient communities where we operate, anchored in strong community support. Over a period of 4 days, our associates supported the Children's Day Carnival through pre-event planning as well as on-day execution of children's day activities. Supporting the cause, Siew Kim Beh, Chief Financial & Sustainability Officer and Managing Director, Japan and South Korea, and Bee Leng TAN, Chief Commercial Officer, were also present to spend time with the children at Rainbow Centre, connecting with them through the games and activities that were designed to empower them. As part of Ascott Unlimited, the volunteering effort was built on the delivery of Unlimited Good, and was part of CapitaLand’s global #GivingAsOne campaign, which is a platform for staff, business partners and customers to do good together by uplifting the lives of vulnerable groups where CapitaLand operates. Through #GivingAsOne, we rallied the participation of our associates across the globe to drive a collective social impact to support a single cause. CapitaLand Hope Foundation also doubled the impact of our efforts by matching S$20 for every volunteer hour contributed during #GivingAsOne.
