We were honored to have the TUCSS Vice President Mr Poh Chee Keong join us, sharing valuable insights on the significance of this special day; together with TUCSS Immediate Past-President Dr Jeyatharan Kumarasamy and TUCSS committee Mr Jim Yee. I am deeply honored to receive this present and an invitation from the TUCSS - Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society (Singapore). Thanks Massimo Marotta and the team from Singapore. I will definitely come back in the future. This invitation was extended on the occasion of our MIRET-Tunnel AI being awarded the Silver #TechnicalInnovation of the Year at the ITA-AITES Awards. Still congratulations to my teams in ETS. #Singapore for #Tunnelling, #Innovation and #Sustainability Singapore is not just a city from a sci-fi movie. It takes the best from consolidated innovation and gives it a home with reliable and solid master plans. During my presencs as a juror in #YiI2023, Bentley Systems interviewed Victor Khoo, showcasing their utility mapping ecosystem for digital workflows. In Singapore, utilities, both old and new, as well as #storage, #waste, and even travel, are underground, ready to be transferred to a digital #ecosystem. With limited land, Singapore maximizes the use of underground space through technology, as seen in their 3-D masterplan of underground Singapore. City planners are actively integrating nature into #infrastructure, even weaving it into the fabric of towering edifices. Since 2008, new construction projects must incorporate plant life, a part of the city expansion initiative known as #MarinaBay. This has led to Singapore producing 90% of its required water internally, a remarkable feat. After a tough competition against exceptional projects from around the world, I am proud to announce that our tunnelling project for a key section of the Singapore Thomson-East Coast Line has been awarded the 3rd, Bronze Prize, at this year's ITA-AITES Tunnelling Awards! The event was held in the stunning city of Genoa, supported by SIG - Società Italiana Gallerie and it was truly inspiring to witness the incredible advancements in tunnelling and underground construction showcased by the global tunnelling community. A special thanks to my colleague hendrie bernard for delivering an outstanding presentation that undoubtedly left a strong impression, and to my amazing colleagues for their unwavering support throughout this journey. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and teamwork that went into overcoming the challenges of this project.
