🌱 NUS has made big strides towards sustainability with the completion of a campus-wide solar photovoltaic installation project. The installation of more than 20,000 solar panels across NUS’ Kent Ridge Campus and University Town is set to reduce the University’s carbon footprint by more than 4,000 tons of CO2 annually. #NUSSustainability This ambitious project, a collaboration between NUS University Campus Infrastructure and Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore, will supply 4% of the University's electricity consumption—equivalent to powering 2,200 HDB flats for a year. 🎅 Ho Ho Ho, Christmas Came Early to the RCs! 🎅 To provide some respite to the residents as they prepare for their end-of-semester exams, our collective Dining Team brought forward some Christmas magic to the Residential Colleges, filling the dining halls with festive cheer and joy! Residents got to sample a delightful holiday spread, complete with seasonal classics, including a crowd favourite - chocolate fondue. Even ‘Santa’ paid a special visit to the Dining Halls, making the dinner time extra sweet by handing out candy to one and all. A big thank you to Campus Life, Housing Services, Dining Services Team, to our catering partners, and to the wonderful residents who joined in the celebration, filling the Halls with festive vibe to make it truly special. 🌊 On October 27th, UCI and NUS SAVE (Students' Association for Visions of the Earth) collaborated to participate in the SG Clean Day initiative organized by the Public Hygiene Council. Our dedicated team of over 30 NUS staff and students from various faculties gathered bright and early at Changi Beach for a meaningful Beach Cleanup. Together, we collected more than 26 kg of waste, primarily plastic, highlighting the urgent need to protect our natural environment. This event not only deepened our appreciation for the challenges of environmental preservation but also emphasized the importance of living sustainably and recognizing the hard work of our cleaners who keep our public spaces pristine.
