It is always heart warming to encourage young law students to find reason and purpose in pursuing Law.
During my recent visit to Singapore, I had the privilege of participating in an insight day at WhiteFern LLC. Having moved to the UK from Singapore at the age of 18, this was my first opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the inner workings of a Singaporean firm, and I am deeply grateful for the experience. One of the highlights of my visit was attending a trust case hearing at the Supreme Court of Singapore, renowned for its distinctive UFO-like architectural design. Observing the judicial process in such a unique and prestigious setting was both inspiring and educational, offering valuable insights into the practical application of Singaporean law. Additionally, engaging in in-depth conversations with colleagues at White Fern LLC allowed me to compare and contrast the judicial systems of the UK and Singapore. These discussions illuminated key differences in legal frameworks, courtroom procedures, and cultural nuances while also highlighting shared principles of justice. This experience broadened my understanding of how legal systems adapt to the needs of their respective societies and deepened my appreciation for Singapore’s legal landscape. The insight day not only strengthened my professional development but also provided a meaningful connection to my roots, reaffirming my interest in exploring global perspectives within the legal profession.
