For the last 6 years we have always celebrated founders day to celebrate the memory of my Late father , Ripudaman Singh Bhatia . MY FATHER AND ME Dedicated to my Father Sr.Ripudaman Singh Bhatia ( 1942-2016 ) , DMET Class of 1964. As 25th July approaches, I find myself reflecting on the profound impact my father had on my life. He was my anchor in times of trouble, the wind beneath my wings, and the stern reminder of humility when needed. His teachings on hard work and integrity have guided me through my career, emphasizing the value of earning a living with honesty and diligence. The lessons he imparted about the significance of a handshake as a symbol of trust and commitment still resonate deeply with me today. The values instilled by my father are a priceless gift that I carry with me every day. They shape my decisions and actions, serving as a compass in a world where moral standards can waver. As I ponder on the legacy I will leave for my children, I am reminded of the importance of integrity, kindness, and standing by one's principles. Every choice I make is influenced by the question: would this make my father proud? My father remains my role model, my teacher, and my guide. Today was a special day at our office as we were visited by the amazing sons of our late colleague, Haseeb Khan. Last year in April, we lost Haseeb, who had been a part of our team for almost 20 years. He was not only a colleague but also a brother and confidant to me and a mentor to over 100 of our younger colleagues. It was heartwarming to see that Haseeb's legacy lives on through his sons, who are bright, well-grounded, and full of amazing stories about their father. It was a privilege to have them spend time with us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the man who had such a positive impact on our lives. Rest in peace, Haseeb. There is an old saying " An Unexamined life is not worth living" , knowledge is something that can be obtained from all quarters , my young colleague Amruta Mukadam shared an anecdote that happened with her yesterday , at so many levels it resonated so well with me and this wonderful maritime industry of ours. With her permission sharing a note she shared with me , it is this joy of working with youth and their non cynical enthusiasm that ensure old timers like me love coming to work each day and this is what makes Zener , the #Zenerfamily Here is a small anecdote I want to share .. Today, I visited the nearby grocery store. When I was paying cash, the owner asked me a random question, and our conversation went like this. Shop owner: Excuse me madam, do you work in IT? Me: No, I work in the maritime industry. Shop owner: Alright. (One second pause ) [Then shop owner suddenly looks at me with curiosity and many questions on his face.] Then he asks, "What exactly do you mean by working in the maritime industry?" Me , being the sales team , of course started introducing Zener and its verticals immediately in a very simple manner..in fact using my hilarious maharashtrian Hindi skills!..trust me I even explained classification society to him while answering one of his questions!! He continued to pose questions, and I continued to respond to them. Our conversation went on for 5-10 mins more.  In the end his reaction was ,"madam this is something unique and I am glad that i learned about it today. This is an uncommon but indeed interesting line you have chosen ." I felt a sense of pride in all of us for doing something that is familiar but still distinct, indeed! By the end of the day, when you're completely exhausted , only these kinds of interactions help keep you motivated and give you a different kind of energy, right?  - Amruta reading this early this morning , just made my day so very positive , well done Young Lady , we men need to be really scared or really up our EQ game.
