Dr Patricia Kho, Medical Oncologist, travelled to Jakarta, Indonesia to participate in the 44th Anniversary Gala Dinner - Rotary Club Jakarta Menteng and Empowering Communities to Fight Cancer: Education, Prevention and Support event by Perumahan Raya Mas, attended by around 50 and 250 participants respectively.   At the events, Dr Kho delivered a presentation on Advances in Screening and Cancer Treatment: Improving Outcomes, providing valuable insights into the impact of cancer globally and the importance of early detection, highlighting the cancers to look out for and the role of screening in improving patient outcomes. Dr Kho also shared the latest advancements in cancer treatment and emphasised how personalised care can significantly enhance treatment success.   Thank you Dr Kho for your commitment to sharing your expertise and empowering communities with the knowledge needed to fight cancer.  

Congratulations to the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) for their 75 years of contribution to the healthcare in Singapore! From their beginnings in 1949 where they started caring for tuberculosis patients to the establishment of Mount Alvernia Hospital in 1961, their impact has touched many lives. We were honoured to be a part of this celebration as a partner of Mt Alvernia Hospital delivering comprehensive cancer care. Together, we look forward to many more years of making a meaningful difference and building a healthier future.

We are pleased to share that Prof Hwai Loong Kong (Medical Oncologist) recently delivered an insightful presentation titled Pan-tumour potential: The progress and future of ADCs in multiple cancer types at ESMO - European Society for Medical Oncology Asia Congress 2024 held in Singapore last weekend. Prof Kong's talk explored how the role of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) have evolved in oncology, highlighting their impact on cancer treatment across various tumour types. At Icon, our doctors actively contribute to the oncology field by sharing their knowledge through insightful talks with peers, fostering collaboration and learning. We are committed to advancing cancer care through continuous education and innovation.

Congratulations to Dr Ronald Ng, Clinical Haematologist on being conferred the Outstanding Court Volunteer in the Open Category by The Honourable Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon this week. This award recognises Dr Ng for his invaluable role as a mediator, who expertly mediates criminal cases at the State Courts Court Dispute Resolution Cluster as a volunteer. As we head into the last month of 2024, our Icon doctors and management team got together for an end of year dinner to celebrate our achievements, express appreciation for one another and enjoy each other’s company.   This year's dinner was exceptionally special as we had the pleasure of Ross Koscharsky 🇺🇦, Global Director - Icon Cancer Centre, Shannyn Crutchfield, Senior Financial Controller - Cancer Centre Global and Julie Crouch, Group Director of Molecular Oncology joining us, with Ross sharing Icon Group's progress in 2024 and plans for 2025.    As we look ahead, we remain united by a shared purpose: making a difference in the lives of our patients and keeping them at the heart of everything we do.   Here’s to another year of impact, growth and closing the cancer care gap.   #IconicTeam #Teamwork #MakingADifference #CancerCare
