The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it. The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. Yunzeju Inn is very centrally located in the heart of ancient Pingyao. The staff was very helpful and always available. The Hanfu experience was fun and included in our stay. The room was spacious and could fit our two backpacks easily. The architecture of the builging was also a plus.

When booking from Europe, we did not realise correctly the time required to get to the caves and to the hanging monastery (a must view when in Datong). We thought that by using public transport we could manage to do both in a short period of time. So wrong! We arrived and Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 reassured us and in less than 30 minutes he was able to help and book for us a private car for the next day. He made our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot from both of us if you are reading ! Plus, this hotel is wonderful : super new, technological and the staff is super kind (from the ones in the lobby to the ones in the restaurant/cafeteria). Breakfast is amazing. You can have everything, freshly made for you.

It was my first time to visit Datong, and it was a very pleasant experience! We booked it a month in advance, the price was reasonable, and the bed was very comfortable! In addition to towels, disposable bath towels are also provided in the room, which is very suitable for people with mysophobia! the hotel is only 20mins travel from the airport which is wonderful for my business trip because i need to go to my customer located nearby. the services and facilities are also better than other local hotel. it is my third time staying this hotel, will definitely choose the same hotel on my next trips.

It's just across the street from Huayan Temple. Go there when it opens at 8am to avoid tour groups and large crowds. The room is large, and the upstairs is quiet, clean, and thoughtfully provides disposable bath towels and toilet seats, as well as body lotion and facial cleanser. The proprietress is kind and friendly. Datong is not cold at the end of October. Come and experience the charm of ancient buildings in Shanxi! He seems quite impatient and unfriendly to attend to us. The counter sells beer, we were asking him if is ok to buy the beer and have it at the lobby dining area. He didn't give a direct answer of 'No', we were confused and kept asking. But he raised his voice, which is unprofessional of a customer service staff. We were not expecting such service and attitude from a well-known hotel. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience at the hotel and generally we are satisfied with the experience.

It was the first time for me to travel to Pingyao, and the whole family was very satisfied with Juhongyuan Mansion II: 1. The hotel provides free pick-up at the station, saving us the trouble of traveling 2. The courtyard house is in the style of an old Shanxi house, which is unique 3. I stayed 3 nights in this hostel. I liked it really much. I felt at home there. The owner are really kind, they speak English very well and, they are keen to chitchat with you after your day which is really nice when you are traveling alone. Also the hostel is really clean. On top of that, the hostel is nice with lot of plants. The location is great it's only 2 min walk to reach the old town. Excellent stay. It's a massive complex with many sections, looks beautiful day and night, perfect location near entrance gate to city wall and main roads. Room was big, clean, comfortable and nicely designed. Toiletries and breakfast included, good food. Staff very friendly, helpful and patient with my attempts at chinese/using a translator app. Overall great value, no issues at all.
