The location of the hostel is quite good. It’s only a few minutes walk to the nearest metro and Cui Hu 翠湖. There are a few flights of stairs where there is no lift before you can reach the rooms.

This is the best hostel I have stayed in China by far, all thanks to the amazing host who is truly passionate about helping travelers as he is a traveler himself! Everyday he was eager to help with my plans, help other foreigners with food, phone issues, anything that came up. This is also the first place that had a real hostel vibe where it's easy to connect with other travelers (Chinese and foreign) in the common space. I would recommend everyone to stay here in Kunming!

Amazing location. Right in the city center. Although the metro is a 15minutes walk away. Very clean, very comfortable stay. The staff were amazing. They have great selection of drinks and food too. And the location is right upstairs a great restaurant. Highly recc. Will book again.

Convenient airport pick up, lots of places to eat nearby, and great staff, its a great stay to stay for few hours like we did, although it needs improvements but was a great short stay.

Great location near Zuanxi market for breakfast and shopping for local Yunnan produce. The room is nicely decorated, like in the photos. The hostel also has a restaurant that is very good with a variety of food and reasonably priced.

Overall room was basic. There was a restaurant in the hotel that offer hot meals. It was low reason, thus the hostel was quite empty during our stay. Or perhaps the location was so close to the bus station, most hikers will hop into bus and back to Lijiang or Shangri-La straight away. The hotel is located uphill. The only trouble we faced was our baggages was stored at the public storage room downhill, and we had to carried our own baggages walk about 200m uphill, and 3 storey staircase to our room.

Great hostel. Comfortable beds with electric heated blanket, curtains, plugs. Good hot shower, place for drying clothes on the roof. Around 2 km from the old town. Quiet neighborhood.

Right next to a calm old town (not Lijiang old town). Lovely place with many young people to meet. It is clean with food and coffee options. Xiao Xiao at the frint desk was very friendly:)

The hostel is really well located near the old town (not far from the square where the daily dance happens) and near the train station. Despite the cold weather the rooms are warm with heating and electric blankets. The owner is a real sweetheart, very kind and patient. I had a problem with a scenic area and he did all he could to help find a solution. He can also help you arrange tours. This is a great place to stay while you're in Shangri-La

The kind Macau man spent an hour not to say, but also sent three cards to three foreigners. The British foreigner said he was very touched. He received a lot of help in China and was very satisfied with this youth travel. It was a bit cold and did not provide electric blankets. After he left, he gave 3.5 points. I called him on WeChat. He said that this is the general youth travel, not enough for the level of good or excellent. Foreigners live in at least two toilets in the youth travel, and I don’t think the boss upgraded the room for him. It’s just a bed. Even though you already know this hotel is bad, but you still want to buy it because you are poor, I beg you, please enrich yourself a little more to buy a better hotel. This hotel is horrible. Smells like cigarettes, damp, musty very strong. Hinges. A lot of mosquitoes. The floor is very dirty. We only sat for 3 hours. Quickly want to get out because it's very suffocating to be there. You deserve a better hotel.

Since the location of the youth hostel is difficult to find and the front desk does not answer the phone, you need to find it yourself. Follow the route in the picture below to find the front desk accurately and quickly to check in. (Locate Burger King here (see Figure 1), walk left (see Figure 2), turn right at the end of the mall (see Figure 3), turn right and walk a few meters to the right door to enter the elevator (see Figure 4), go up to the sixth floor, turn right and walk a few meters after exiting the elevator to find the front desk to check in.)

Well-cleaned and well-kept apartment home style. It's very near the station and there's a grocery store downstairs making it very convenient. The hostel receptionist is also very friendly and will recommend you things to do around this area. So if you are looking for a short stay over from the railway just go for this. I believe hostel style is the best way to connect, meet people around, and even a chance to travel around nearby together!

I stayed in the dormitory (6 people) who was cleaned every day. Privacy guarantee with thick curtains. There is a garden with a ping pong table, and also a rooftop. I recommend this hostel. Lockers would be fine for safety. But there is storage for the bags and belonging. That's a nice touch.

Had a really good stay here, the hostel had a very cool sun roof, free washing machine, and kitchen. The staff were super friendly and helpful and made an effort to include me in various socialising activities! Location is very good , right in the centre of the ancient city, highly recommend!

Loved LOVED this hostel! quite easy to get to from the train station and a 15min walk to Dali old town, but there's also a really frequent free shuttle service on offer to get you from the hostel to the old town and back. very clean, wonderful views from the roof and various public spaces and balconies. great social area, and I'm so happy to have made so many friends there. the hostel also offers various group trips to main sights around Dali for really reasonable prices - the best thing is that the tour guide also takes pretty professional photos so you get your memories recorded throughout the trip! the hostel also has cute cats and a big fluffy dog!

Song and Dave speak excellent English and Song especially was very helpful and apologetic about only having a room with two single beds rather than the double we booked (a conflict between bookings made on Trip & C-trip). Nevertheless the beds were comfortable and we slept well. Room was clean and tidy although no toilet paper and the flexible shower broken (large overhead shower working). No kettle in room but community water boiler on ground floor in courtyard. Nice atmosphere in hotel and architecturally satisfying, great views from roof where there is a place to do laundry and hang clothes to dry. Short walk to ancient town, and the neighborhood around the hotel also worth exploring. Recommended.

Hostel was decent, and good value. Bed was hard but comfortable enough. Bathrooms were clean enough, although for foreigners just know there's only squat toilets. The staff were helpful, and good with using translators to explain everything which was appreciated. Location is great, perfect to spend a night in Shaxi for a good price. However there was no lock on the door to the room (although there is a small locker in the room), but given its a small town security isn't too much of an issue. I forgot to take photos of the rooms but the view from the roof is nice. Overall, decent stay.

We had a good experience staying at this hotel. We had one day to spend in Dali and chose this hotel as we needed to depart from Dali Railway Station early in the morning. The hotel is at a comfortable 5 min walking distance from the train station. The room is also clean and comfortable. The bathroom is simple but functional. The staff is helpful and quick to address your needs. Overall a good stay in Dali!

If you are traveling on a show string budget, this place will be just fine. The pods are well maintained. No toiletries and towels provided. Get your own. The owner is helpful. The place also has bikes which can be rented at 10 RMB per day. Has wifi.

Chaoge is probably the youth hostel with the best humanities and accommodation environment in the ancient city. There are various activities every night and I have met a lot of friends here. If you are also backpacking alone, it is highly recommended.

The location of the youth hostel is very good. It is close to the food street and it is very convenient to eat. The owner's house can rent mountain bikes to ride around Erhai Lake. The price is reasonable. The room is facing two streets. It is a bit noisy in the middle of the night and it is easy to wake up

The room is cleaned every day and has a sense of design. The atmosphere of the youth hostel is warm. People who get together to talk and laugh are good friends. It is very suitable for traveling alone to find a companion. I stayed for 3 nights and felt glad that I chose it instead of those in the old town. It's close to the market to restaurant, to the old town and taxi accessible. I didnt have to drag my heavy luggage along the old town's bumpy roads or climb the hill. They helped me arrange bargain for the electric bike to go around town and to the near by Ancient towns. The house in located behind aparment so it might be a bit difficult to find. Just pass the barrier and follow Amap direction and you'll find a small house wity Warmly Welcome sign. Good luck. Highly recommend to stay here.

The owner helps me to take my luggage to the room during checkin and checked on me when I’m not feeling well. They clean the room every day also the bathroom. I had a pleasant stay. P/s: you have to make your own bed and the mattress quite hard. I found all “kind” of hair when i put on the bed sheet. And lots of hair on the floor as well. I informed the owner and she cleaned the room immediately. Thank you for your service

There is a cat in the hostel, named Pi Pi, very cute. In the yard, you can see the sunrise over Jinshan Mountain in the morning. The boss played board games and watched movies with his friends. There is an electric blanket on the bed in the room, and the washing space is quite large and very clean. The location is in Baisha Ancient Town, very close to the bus station. I like it very much~

The location is a little far away. There seems to be a restaurant next door. The sound of chickens crowing is quite loud when chatting. I slept soundly and didn't feel it. There is no elevator. We took two boxes and they helped us carry one upstairs. The things we left there were put away and put on the delivery table. The service is good. How can you come to Yunnan and not go to Kunming? How can you come to Kunming and not go to Dali? How can you come to Dali and not go to Lijiang? So the last stop is in Lijiang. On the ”Long March”, you can always meet many like-minded people, most of whom have the same thoughts. Only the magnetic field matches the state of mind and purpose. This is a stopping tower where strangers from all over the world can find a chance to meet.

The sanitation is very clean, the proprietress cleans it every day, and the bed is very comfortable to sleep on. I have never slept so comfortably in other youth hostels before. You don’t have to carry a big suitcase and walk up the stone road (cars cannot enter the ancient city, you can only walk). It is so friendly. The bed is big and comfortable, even though it is a bed. , but the boss has already set the sheets and duvet covers. Unlike the old-style youth hostels, you need to set them yourself. The boss also helps carry the luggage upstairs. The second sister recommended a meal, and no one is wrong.
