Charlie's El Nido Managed by HII
4.3/570 Reviews
Only giving this stay a ‘3’ because of the experience with the many workers around as they were renovating, painting the hotel. While we understand it was low season, I think we should have been moved to the area of the hotel without the construction. We couldn’t swim as the pool is surrounded with men painting outside the balcony or on the first floor which went on past 9 at one point until I complained. They were all respectful but still. One of us was moved since the original room was not good, but the workers ended up working outside our new room complete with removing old plaster, rods on the floor making it unsafe to move around. When this work is done, Charlie’s will look fantastic and it is now when we were there. We were greeted with this cold cucumber drink by Reven and it was a thirst quencher in addition to it being delicious. Staff were fantastic. Food was great. Downtown and Lio Beach were accessible and really nice. Lio Beach provides free sitting areas which other beaches don’t. It is close to the airport as well. We will likely want to stay there again as long as we are told there is no more construction going on. Shuttle service was not bad until the day when they decreased the number of service to go to and from town or Lio beach due to low season. Service staff as I said made up for the inconvenience we experienced.

It's not a good idea to travel alone. You pay a deposit first, and the necessary expenses are paid from it, so you don't have to pay anything during your stay. Also, you can generally be satisfied with the activities included in the hotel plan, so there is no need to make reservations. You can truly forget about the world. Please note that transportation must be booked up to three days in advance, and activities must be booked up to the day before. It seems that the marine plants and animals on the beach in front of the hotel are being carefully protected and nurtured, and there are signs of regeneration. Even now, there are various plants and animals in that narrow cove, which can be seen from the pier, and is a great place to snorkel or dive. It is very fun. The air conditioning is so comfortable that you almost forget you're in the Philippines. There is also hot water in the bathroom. Above all, the staff are very hardworking and I would like to hear about what kind of employee training they do. The activities are also very interesting. Meals change daily. I think it's delicious for the Philippines. (In general, the food is better in Thai-Vietnamese food. I have the ingredients, so why not?) I wanted to get back the frying pan and make the omelet myself. If I give you the recipe for dessert, will you make it for me? )g The only thing is that the drainage system is weak, and there is an ammonia smell in the shower room. This is a common problem throughout the Philippines, and may be a fundamental problem with the piping system or construction technology.

We stayed at the resort in November 2024. It is beautifully located at the end of the bay in front of El Nido town. Arriving by boat you find a resort nestled on a fairly steep mountain, individual villas surrounded by well-maintained tropical gardens. Our sea-view villa was spacious and provided an amazing view of the El Nido islands. In general the villa and connecting walk ways are in need of some upkeep, as you can clearly see the impacts of weather and time on the wooden structures, but nothing dramatic. It was great to see ongoing maintenance work, including waste-water management, which will be helpful. What made this space extra-special, was the team. Our butlers, Angelo and Neil, made us feel special every minute of our stay. Our tour guide, Rio and his captain, helped us experience impressive snorkeling sites. On three different tours, they went out of the way and looked for the special, less-crowded options. These tours created lasting memories. Thank you! Jun, the tennis/pickle ball coach was fun and created an adhoc competition for us. Lots of fun. Thank you. Last but not least, the restaurant crews. Miles and his crew created special lunches at Hayak beach. At Henris (top of the hill restaurant), Oliver made the evening special with his great service. At Gana restaurant, we really enjoyed the excellent service and humor of Samuel. He eventually taught us Tagalog over dinner. Thank you! Overall, a great place to visit and spend a few days. Make sure to take advantage of the tours offered.

The first words of the staff is “welcome to paradise” and we can only say it was truly experiencing paradise. From the first second at lounge arrival to the last second of departure there was an amazing, friendly and personalized customer care! The hotel environment , the room, the food, the complementary boat trips all was excellent and gave us an incredible experience to never forget and … to return back to☺️

Absolutely amazing experience. Bathrooms were basic and generally clean but there were a couple of times they could be cleaner. I will 1000% be going back here!

The facility itself is nice but for the my version of a 5 star rating the resort would need to meet the standard of Peninsula Tokyo or the Park Hyatt in Kyoto. Unfortunately the facility doesn’t not meet that standard. What will make up for the lack of the amenities, cleanliness and attention to detail is the service provider. From the front desk to the waiter and waitress, to the cleaning Male/ladies, the service staff will go above and beyond to meet your needs. Last draw back is the sand flies (nik nik as the locals refer to them) are pesky little suckers….literally which makes one hesitant to enjoy the beautiful beach on the resort…which then leads to you missing the beautiful sunrise and sunset that one would expect in paradise. Over all, yes i would gladly return to this facility. It is probably the best on the island but I cannot on good conscience say the this is a 5star resort.
