Hotels with Breakfast in Guilin

My first impression of Shangri La Guilin is that many staff speak English proficiently or at least the basics that are required for their job. I arrived an hour and a half before the check in time but they promptly checked me into my room without any long wait. My luggage was taken to my room by a bell boy whose English was even better than the front of the house. My initial thoughts of the room was that it was quite old fashioned and the interior design & amenities were dated in comparison to most 5 star hotels. The view however was exceptional. I could clearly see the garden, river and mountains. After my first night I was woken by some loud music. Though the staff tried to tell the dancers that playing the music was disruptive to their guests, they continued to play it which further frustrated me. I informed the guest manager Edward who was very helpful in rectifying this. He upgraded me into a much nicer room that he ensured me should be quieter. They also gave me complimentary fruits in the room which added to the nice gesture. This is exactly the kind of quality of service that earns them a 5 star rating. Carl at the front desk was also very competent and was very helpful when I had to pay for something through wechat. The room I came with was a package deal that included breakfast, spa voucher, photoshoot and club privileges. It was worth the extra cost as the all inclusive club buffet during happy hour was filling and tasty (photo attached). Breakfast was a Chinese buffet with a fusion of western basics such as cereal, toast and bakery items. If you have the time, I would highly recommend seeing Kelly (English name) for a ”signature Asian” massage at the spa. She applied the perfect pressure for me and was very kind. The photoshoot was organised through wechat and included 6 photos. The photographer was lovely and the final photos made special memories of my time in China. Suggestions for improvement: several items in the room are in need of repair or replacement eg. old hair dryer that lightly blows air (useless), flickering lights when you turn it on and the phones. I also think if they were to refurbish the pools outside then the place would appear less worn down. Overall, the service and reputation is what made this stay worth it. I look forward to staying at Shangri La again

We spent 2 nights at Sheraton hotel in Guilin. The hotel is located very centrally in walking distance to most major tourist attractions and close to Guilin railway station. The staff was very attentive and absolutely accomodating for all of our wishes making our experience very memorable. The interior design of the hotel is well thought out and gives it a simple but elegant touch. The facilities include small swimming pool which we couldn't try due to the weather situation. The gym consisted of a handful of cardio treadmills and machines for resistance training from Life Fitness with an area in the corner with dumbells and foam rollers, yoga mats. The changing room came with a sauna. We can recommend the breakfast buffet which is a mix of Western breakfast and local specialties from Guilin. Out of the available package options we really enjoyed the photo shoot where they provide makeup and clothes(classy/elegant and Guilin traditional) to capture the amazing moments from the trip.

We stayed for two nights from October 28 to 29 before heading to Yangshuo for another two nights. Originally, we had booked a different hotel for a three-night stay upon our return from Yangshuo. However, after our memorable experience during our first two nights in Guilin and the outstanding service we received, we decided to cancel our initial booking and rebook the Holiday Inn for an additional three nights. We have no regrets at all! . Location: The location of the hotel is unbeatable, situated right at the tip of Zhengyang Pedestrian Street. We were surrounded by a fantastic array of shops, including food options, souvenirs, clothing stores, and even a McDonald's. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including popular tourist attractions. While most shops close around 11:30 PM, we found the noise levels at night to be minimal and manageable. Breakfast Spread: The breakfast offered a delightful surprise with their mifen, a local rice noodle dish that my parents enjoyed every day of our stay. The other breakfast options were standard but satisfactory, leaving us with no complaints. Cleanliness: As expected from a Holiday Inn, the cleanliness was top-notch. The bathrooms were spotless, with no signs of mold or issues in the shower. Service: The service was exceptional. Miranda truly stood out, making our stay memorable with her outstanding customer service. Our positive experience began even before our arrival in China when we contacted the hotel to arrange an airport transfer. Miranda's ability to communicate in basic English was a tremendous help, given our limited Mandarin skills. The rest of the staff were equally impressive, and the daily cleaning ladies were friendly and accommodating. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, cleanliness, and exceptional service!

Great hotel in a wonderful and convenient location. Staff were particularly helpful and check in was super easy. In particular, Peng Min at the hotel front desk was very patient in answering all our questions about tour bookings and even helped us book a 4 start cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo for the next day. Thanks to the team at the hotel for making our stay and trip so easy and enjoyable.

Amazing hotel, I guess it has been renovated recently . The room is magnetic, and the staff can speak English quite well . Swimming pool, jacuzzis (3 of them), sauna and steam room, excellent gym with table tennis 🏓 equipments makes this property and excellent place to stay. Breakfast was excellent as I am a huge fan of Chinese food, not much of western food, but there are kids station, bread, coffee (good one) , sausage and bacon, and several other options of pastries such as croissants and danish. Thanks XiaoWu小伍 for the amazing service guiding us around the rooftop, taking pictures of us, and giving assistance providing all the important information on how to enjoy the hotel facilities . the only bad thing is the costumers , a huge amount of them smoke everywhere although there are signs saying the whole property is forbidden to smoke. The hotel should remove the ashtrays in front of the elevators . Unfortunately it is a problem in China when you go to hotels and makes very unpleasant the shared ventilation bringing smoking smell into other people’s room.

A group of seven people passed through Guilin. The hotel they had booked before changed the room type for no reason, so they changed to Guilin Hotel, which was a few dozen meters away. Manager Meng Yan, who was in charge of the reception, was professional, enthusiastic, patient and decent. Her high-quality service swept away the unpleasantness of everyone before. Guilin Hotel is an old foreign-related hotel. From the environment and architecture to the size of the room and various services, it is worthy of the five-star standard. What's more rare is that it has a friendly price. If I come to Guilin again in the future, Guilin Hotel will be the first choice for accommodation, and I strongly recommend it to friends in need.

Perfect location for someone traveling by speed train! Less than 4 minutes walking from the North Station and you can litterally see the hotel from the station and vice versa. The rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable. Would be nice if some were kept non-smoking. I will never give 5/5 on cleanliness for a room that smells like smoke however clean it looks. The staff was very polite. It would be nice if the hotel gave some indications on how to get around (that would make a 5/5 on service), especially that when I asked about public transport to Longji the reception couldn't help me out. Overall, I would certainly stay here again when taking the train. I would recommend to TRIP to add a price-quality rating, this hotel definitely scores 5/5.

My family came to Guilin from all over the country for tourism, and Guishan Huaxing Hotel was our first choice. The hotel has a superior geographical environment, close to Zizhou Island Park and across the river from Xiangshan Park. The hotel has a Ctrip exclusive channel, which is convenient and quick to check in. The front desk check-in staff is enthusiastic and has a good service attitude. Li Min and Yang Hua, the housekeepers, are considerate and thoughtful, and deserve praise! The room is clean and tidy, and the bedding is clean and comfortable. My family is very satisfied and will come again next time.

The client company was nearby and booked this old hotel. When I entered the room, I felt that the equipment had been renovated. The bed was a bit hard but quite comfortable. Although the old air conditioner was noisy, it was still very powerful. The service was very good. We brought cooked Chinese medicine and needed a refrigerator. The room service immediately showed up with a small refrigerator. The picture when opening the door was really cute. The breakfast was really not good for me. There was not even a normal cup of black coffee. I only had one meal. The next day, I went to RT-Mart across the street to find a restaurant to solve the problem. If you go on a business trip next time, you can still choose not to order breakfast.

The hotel is in a good location, the surrounding transportation, shopping and eating are very convenient, the hotel breakfast can be eaten at 6:30, it is a quite good time for self-driving tourists. Very recommended!
