GGuest UserThis is a beautiful resort located in the middle of the canyon. It's a little bit far from the town, however, you get really connected with nature. I had a room facing the canyon, it's beautiful like you are living solo with nature. The sunlight is great, the rooms are clean and cozy. It does need some maintenance as it gets old over time, however, they are very comfortable to stay in. The best thing I love is the energy in the house and around. Stuff are super nice there and easy to work with.
GGuest UserThis place was so much fun! They really catered to families with young kids. We were given a scavenger hunt to fill out during check-in. .The kids LOVED doing that. I would also recommend trying the included breakfast. We had a suite with a beautiful view of the mountains. We also walked across the street to grab pizza. Excellent food! We also enjoyed the heated pool and spa in the evening.
GGlobal01695650485I was underwhelmed, and frankly would not recommend staying here. The mountain view was over a busy road and row of buildings, with cars, exhaust, and noise a plenty. Nearby restaurants were surprisingly weak, and the shops were filled mostly with junky tourist stuff. But what really messed me up was the way the heater turned on and off throughout the night. It was either too hot or too cold and I woke up constantly. We ended up leaving a day early, loosing the money for that night as I just couldn't take it. Our room was clean, but old and tired, and it was smaller than I expected. If there was a way to get ice, we did not find it, and of course since this motel is not staffed there was no one to ask. We ended up buying ice from the grocery store a few blocks down the street. There was a fridge in the room, and I believe a microwave as well, thought we didn't use it. The personless check-in worked fine. I got a text with the door code which worked fine the first try. No worries on that front. Bottom line: Skip this place and pay up for one of the nicer places with a pleasant view. Or just skip Sedona and try one of the other mountain towns. Could I redo our trip, I would have skipped Sedona and spend time in Prescott, which had way more going on and a really fun vibe.
Amara has a unique location, very near all of the Uptown activity but also right on Oak Creek with those red rocks visible from most places in the resort. It’s got a unique U- shaped room and lobby layout with restaurant, relaxing green area and pool/jacuzzi in the middle of the U, leading down to the far infinity pool edge directly overlooking Oak Creek. We found the services to be very attentive and the restaurant was very beautifully appointed with those red rock views and a very innovative Southwester/Mexican menu. Our room was nice size with a very comfy bed and nicely appointed bath. It’s a midsize boutique hotel and not cheap but given its location and quality, worth it!!
This does not look special upon arrival but, the staff was friendly and attentive. Check-in went off seamlessly. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. They seemed to have thought of everything, including additional rags to clean your shoes after a day of red rock hiking. The patio with views of the red rocks was really nice. It's location was excellent, within walking distance of restaurants, shopping. The Tlaquepaque Shopping Village is only a 5 minute walk from your room, providing many shops, galleries and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoys our stay here.
GGuest UserWe had our Granddaughter and mom in for an Arizona visit so Grand Canyon and Sedona were at the tope of the list. In looking at places to stay this looked like a Southwest style they would enjoy. The pictures are current and the place is as advertised. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Good location close to town dining and shops. Pool and spa nice for this class of hotel. Breakfast is included but not much to chose from. If your need coffee and a bagel its ok but not much else. Second floor rooms have a balcony with table and chairs your can sit out and relax on also. Even though it was only one night we were very happy with this hotel for what we expected. Will go back again. Hint: Rooms on second floor have a better view, but there are about 10 steps up from the walkway so if that gives you issues climbing (with your bags as well) you may want to stay on first floor. You can see the steps in the photos.
黄黄The breakfast was great. It was the best in the hotel where I had breakfast for free on this trip. There were whole wheat bread, scones, fruit, fresh milk, and I could make my own waffles. The front desk staff was also very enthusiastic.
GGuest UserFirst, the positive:
1. The staff was courteous, professional, and helpful.
2. The outdoor area was well above par. The pool was clean with in-pool loungers (4). Safety equipment and signage posted. Multiple cabanas (6?) were available. Large fire pit with plentiful seating. The pool is 5 feet deep at the center. This is not a pool made for swimming laps, but for lounging.
3. Rooms have an outdoor balcony with a table and 2 chairs.
4. Windows have both a blackout screen and a privacy screen. The window is able to be opened for fresh air and is screened.
5. HVAC was in good order and worked perfectly.
6. In room refrigerator was clean and worked well. Microwave, TV, and phone in room.
7. Breakfast area was spacious and breakfast offered multiple options though I did not avail myself of this amenity.
Now, the negative:
1. The room itself was much smaller (king bed ) than expected. Room was cramped and looked nothing like the pictures on the website.
2. The bathrooms were recently remodeled, but the aesthetics are problematic. Why would anyone put wood laminate flooring in a bathroom with a walk in shower that has approximately a 2” inch lip and shower curtain in lieu of doors? You take a shower and the floor gets wet...no bueno.
3. There is a $10 per night service fee charged on registration. The fee is for wifi and other services. I don't recall seeing this posted when I reserved the room, but perhaps I overlooked it. I didn't object paying it, but the fee should be transparent.
4. Housekeeping is performed every 3 days and if you need more towels, etc., simply contact the front desk and they will have what you need brought up.
Other: I booked the room for 2 nights but opted not to stay the 2nd night.
The Sedona Hampton Inn was the most disappointing and disgusting Hilton hotel we have ever seen! We are Hilton Diamond Members and Hilton AMEX holders, so we naturally look first to Hilton facilities as we travel. Hilton does not own the Sedona location, as it is franchised. Hilton should drop these owners of this franchise. This particular hotel is a ”stain” (literally) on the Hilton banner! We tried 4 times to contact the franchise owners. On the 4th attempt they still did not give me the company contact person, they simply referred me back to the kind and frustrated hotel manager. The staff is courteous, but they, too are frustrated. They report their needs and issues to ownership. By the condition of this building one can assume all requests are ignored, just like my attempt to reach the owners. With taxes and a $17 per night parking fee (despite burned out lot lights,) our tab was $322 per night to stay in this grungy facility! Hilton corporate HAS been notified with pictures of the burned out parking lot lights, the strobing parking lot light, the strobing entrance sconce, the dangerously loose shower grab bar, the dirty, stained rugs, the torn seams, the dangerously lifting seams, the illegal 2 damaged exit lights, the peeling paint, the pulled away wall moldings, the greasy breakfast room chairs( that I would not give away for free on a Craigslist curb alert,) the torn out chunk of carpeting and the broken ice machine! Simply disgusting! Our stay was in September of 2024. Looking back over various travel site reviews, many of these issues have been prevalent for over 18 months, and likely longer after seeing the level of disrepair! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!
