Bangkok Market Tour | Nang Loeng Market in the Morning: Experience Local Life in the Old Town

Nang Loeng Market is a 120-year-old market that I stumbled upon while walking around Bangkok. It is a treasure trove of a destination, made up of several small alleys that converge into a large open space. Located in the old town of Bangkok, the market is home to many Chinese residents, and many of the stalls have been passed down from generation to generation, offering traditional flavors that can't be found elsewhere! Today, Nang Loeng Market is no longer focused on selling fresh produce, but is more like a food center, similar to the food courts and hawker centers in Malaysia and Singapore. There is a wide variety of Thai and Chinese food, main courses, desserts, and drinks, all at affordable prices. It's a great place to explore, and you can have breakfast and lunch here. I personally recommend coming here in the morning when the food is freshest, so you can start your day with a full stomach. 🍕Recommended Snacks Nanta Thai Desserts: Thai steamed desserts with different flavors such as pumpkin, coconut, and banana. I think they're pretty good. Ya Chaem's Kanom Bueang Yuan: Vietnamese desserts made with a charcoal stove, one is a bit like an omelet, and the other is bread stuffed with meat and fried. Neua Tun Nang Loeng: A beef stew shop run by an old Chinese man, which can be paired with noodles and other main courses. 🪭Nearby Attractions: There are many attractions nearby, including three famous temples: Wat Saket, Wat Ratchanatdaram, and Wat Benchamabophit, each with its own unique features. Wat Saket is located on a hill, offering a panoramic view of Bangkok's skyline; Wat Ratchanatdaram has a magnificent golden pagoda; and Wat Benchamabophit is a modern Thai temple with a blend of European styles. These three temples are secondary attractions in Bangkok, not as famous as the Grand Palace or Wat Pho, so there are not many visitors, making for a quieter and more enjoyable experience.
