|Beijing's Century Glacier. Baihe Valley is one of the three major valleys in Beijing. The high cliffs on both sides of the valley are divided by the Baihe River, which looks like a white jade belt. The scenery is magnificent. The river is not deep and is located at the bottom of the valley. It is frozen solid all year round, so you can walk on it with confidence. There are hiking trails on both sides of the glacier. You can walk on the trails if the ice is unstable (some rivers have fast-flowing water and are not frozen). Walk 4–5 km into the valley. The scenery is similar after that. It takes about 4 hours, so you can control your time well. 👔 The temperature in the valley is -5°C. Wear fleece and a soft or hard shell jacket when moving. It is warm in the sun. Bring a down jacket in your bag, as it will be cold in the shade. 🏃‍♀️ Enter the scenic area and walk along the path by the river. You can walk on the ice where it is thick (be sure to bring crampons, as it is very slippery). 🚗 Navigate to the Longyun Mountain Scenic Area Visitor Center. You can park at the entrance. Tickets are CNY 20 per person.
