|A small town that changed world history. Fishing Town is a small town in the Bashu region, located on Diaoyu Mountain in Hechuan, Chongqing. It is the most powerful battle city—even after the fall of Xiangyang and the demise of the Southern Song Dynasty, Fishing Town remained the only city that was not conquered by the Mongols. From 1243 to 1279, the military and civilians of Hezhou in the Southern Song Dynasty relied on the natural dangers of Fishing Town to resist the Mongol and Yuan armies for 36 years. The Battle of Fishing Town was an important battle in the Song-Yuan War, and the most famous event was the death of Mongke Khan in 1259, which had a significant impact on the historical trajectory of the Southern Song Dynasty. Fishing Town is known for its rare example of a weaker force defeating a stronger one in the history of Chinese and foreign wars, and is therefore known by Europeans as the "Place Where God Broke His Whip." [Main Attractions] 1. Huguo Gate Huguo Gate is the landmark building of Fishing Town and the largest pass. The city tower on the city platform is a double-eaved Xieshan-style city tower, 7 meters high. The tower is backed by a cliff to the north and faces a cliff to the south, making it a spectacular sight. 2. Zhenxi Gate One of the eight city gates of Fishing Town. The city gate is located on a cliff on the small fortress in the west of the city, and the military and civilians of Fishing Town used to enter and exit via a plank road. Zhenxi Gate blocked dozens of attacks by the elite Mongol and Yuan troops, playing an important role in "one man guards the pass, ten thousand men cannot open it." 3. City Wall Built with stones on the mountain cliffs, with a total length of 8 kilometers. After Fishing Town surrendered to the Yuan Dynasty, part of the city wall was demolished and repaired several times during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. 4. Tang Dynasty Hanging Reclining Buddha Diaoyu Mountain in the Tang and Song Dynasties was a famous stone Buddha site, known for its exquisite Buddhist cliff carvings in Bayu. The Buddha statue is carved on a hanging cliff, facing south with its back to the north, head to the west and feet to the east, 11 meters long, dignified and compassionate. [Transportation]: 1.
