Sun Yat-sen and Marilyn Monroe once stayed at this antique hotel

2024.5.7-7.9 I stayed for 2 nights at the Dongjia Hotel, and I really loved this antique hotel. Today, I want to share my hotel experience with everyone. From the airport to the hotel: The journey takes less than 30 minutes, and the taxi fare with Grob is 33 Malaysian Ringgit, which is quite close. We booked the Deluxe Heritage Wing Twin Room for 1412 yuan per night. The Heritage Wing is an antique old building, and everyone must stay in the Heritage Wing because the Victory Wing is a new building and does not have the feel of a retro antique hotel. Moreover, the room was booked one month in advance. The price includes breakfast for two and 2 Happy Hour vouchers. Since there were three of us, we needed to pay an extra person fee (including breakfast and Happy Hour). At check-out, we paid an additional 478 Malaysian Ringgit = 720 yuan, which is 350 yuan per night per person. Hotel Scenery: The antique hotel itself is a very beautiful attraction. Even if you don't stay here, you can come to the hotel for afternoon tea, take photos, and check in. The hotel faces the sea, but there is no beach and swimming is not allowed (which is a bit of a pity). However, the view from the room is really beautiful. Room Service: Because we emailed the hotel in advance to inform them that we would be staying with three people, the hotel was very considerate and prepared three of everything in advance. Three cups, three bathrobes, three sets of towels, three pairs of slippers... I feel that the hotel service is very good. There is a welcome red wine upon check-in🍷, and all the drinks in the fridge are free and replenished daily. A night's stay for 1400 yuan including these amenities would cost at least 2000 yuan+ in China. Hotel Room: The entrance is a washroom with two sinks, which is quite good as two people can use it at the same time. Inside, there is a bathtub and a shower room. The bedroom has two single beds, which are not very big, about 1.1 to 1.2 meters in width. It's just enough for two girls to sleep on one bed. The living room is spacious with a long sofa and a round table. Outside the room, there is a small balcony where you can enjoy the view and have a drink, which is quite pleasant. Hotel Breakfast: It didn't amaze me; it's just the standard of an ordinary star-rated hotel, and there are very few types of food. The stir-fry made to order is outdoors, and I didn't know about it the first day, so it felt even less. ❤️Hotel Location The taxi fare from the hotel is about 5 Malaysian Ringgit, and it's quite close to the city center. If it's not too hot, you can walk out at night. But Penang is hot every day, so we basically took taxis. 📌Tips: A deposit of 400 Malaysian Ringgit is required for 2 nights. It is recommended to pay in cash because if you use a credit card, the refund will take 5 working days.
