Gifu Great Buddha, one of the three great Buddhas of Japan

Gifu Great Buddha, one of the three great Buddhas of Japan along with the Great Buddha of Nara and the Great Buddha of Kamakura, is located in Gifu, Japan. Gifu Great Buddha is located in Shouhouji Temple, opposite the Gifu Museum. 1⃣️Shouhouji Temple is a branch temple of the Obaku sect, which is a branch temple of Manpuku-ji Temple in Uji. The architectural style of this Great Buddha Hall is reminiscent of Chinese Buddhist halls. It was built in 1832 during the Edo period, and it took 38 years to build this Buddha statue. 2⃣️The Buddha statue is located in the Buddha Hall, with a height of 25.15 meters and a circumference of about 20 meters. The Great Buddha is a dry lacquer Buddha, a seated statue, with a height of 13.7 meters, ears 2.1 meters long, and a nose 0.4 meters high. It is huge. The Buddha statue is made of ginkgo wood as the central pillar, with a wooden skeleton, and the outer frame is made of high-quality bamboo and clay. The exterior of the Buddha statue is completely covered with scriptures, then lacquered, and then covered with gold leaf. Inside the statue is a statue of Yakushi Nyorai, which is also found in the original Kawate Shouhouji Temple. In this technique, its size is the largest in Japan, and because the skeleton is made of bamboo woven into a bamboo basket, it is affectionately called the "Basket Buddha."
