Strolling Through Lingnan Memories

Day 1: On the first day in Guangzhou, I chose to start from Lychee Bay. This restored area of Lingnan water town is full of poetic charm. As I strolled along the river, I saw small boats shuttling back and forth, feeling the old charm of 'Water City Guangzhou'. Walking along the riverbank, I entered Pantang Wuyue, a microcosm of traditional Xiguan culture. The handmade desserts and pastries exuded a unique sweetness, making it hard to leave. In the afternoon, I headed to Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street to taste authentic Cantonese dim sum such as char siu bao and shrimp dumplings. The rich flavors seemed to tell the story of Guangzhou's cuisine with every bite. Day 2: On the second day, I visited the Huanghuagang 72 Martyrs' Cemetery, a place filled with historical memories, solemn and dignified. Standing there, my thoughts drifted back to the era of struggle for ideals. In the afternoon, I turned to the modern Taikoo Hui, where shopping and food intertwined into a bustling scene. In the evening, I chose to go to Haixinsha Asian Games Park, where the open view offered a close-up of the Canton Tower. As night fell, the changing lights of the tower reflected in the Pearl River, making one marvel at the prosperity and beauty of modern Guangzhou.
