#celebratewithtrip Birch Memorial Clock Tower is located along Jalan Dato Sagor, and is around 350 meters 5 minutes walk from Ipoh railway station. This Victorian-style tower was unveiled in 1909. It was a dedication to the first British Resident of Perak, J.W.W Birch, who was assassinated on 2nd Nov 1875. The clock tower had one mother bell and four smaller bells, which used to strike the chimes of Big Ben. Medan Selera Dato' Sagor is a food court located next to the Birch Clock tower and is opened daily from 0700-1700. Masjid Negeri Perak is the state mosque of Perak, built and completed in August 1968, only a 2 minute walk from Birch clock tower. A 2 minutes walk from the Birch clock tower, you will see the Ipoh town hall, which was built and completed in 1916.
