Jingdezhen's "Jing" and "Porcelain" (Part 1).

Jingdezhen is a world-famous "Millennium Porcelain Capital." In 1004 AD, Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty bestowed his reign title "Jingde" on this small town, and the name "Jingdezhen" has been used ever since. With over 2,000 years of pottery history, over 1,000 years of official kiln history, and over 600 years of imperial kiln history, Jingdezhen has preserved a rich and complete porcelain industry system and cultural heritage. In the golden autumn, my friends and I set foot on this magical land. On the way from Jingdezhen North Station to the hotel, the blue and white porcelain street lamp poles on both sides of the road already showed the characteristics of the porcelain capital. Arriving at the All Seasons Hotel near Taoxichuan, we put down our luggage and walked a few minutes to Taoxichuan. After taking a queue number at a restaurant called "Home for Dinner," the waiter said we had to wait at least 20 minutes, so we couldn't wait to browse the ceramic stalls nearby. On Sunday, the stalls were crowded with people, and it was no exaggeration to describe it as "shoulder to shoulder" and "a sea of people." The market was filled with a dazzling array of handmade porcelain cups, porcelain ornaments, porcelain decorations, and other handicrafts, which looked even more exquisite under the lights. The magnetic field formed by such a large porcelain market was something I had never seen in other ceramic production areas such as Chaozhou, Yixing, Foshan, and Dehua. Like all tourists who come to Jingdezhen, we certainly didn't miss visiting the China Ceramic Museum, Taoyangli Cultural Block, Imperial Kiln Museum, Xinping Porcelain Palace, Sanbao Village Porcelain Valley, Taoyang New Village Night Market, and other places. In these places, you can see that Jingdezhen is rejuvenating with new vitality in the collision between the old and the new. Blue and white porcelain, Linglong porcelain, pastel porcelain, colored glaze porcelain... a rich variety, all available. Some say, "No one can leave Jingdezhen empty-handed," and we were no exception, each bringing back our beloved items. The generations of innovation by Jingdezhen craftsmen have made this city's ceramic skills reach new heights. This ancient city, born of porcelain, prospered by porcelain, and famous for porcelain, is writing a new chapter of brilliance with its natural resource advantages and open and inclusive spirit of innovation.
