You will walk along old-fashioned cobblestone roads and climb stairs, so it may be a good idea to bring less luggage. As mentioned above, the island on which Mont Saint-Michel is located is an isolated island. It is surrounded by the sea. However, because the tides are so large, once the tide goes out, the entire visible area becomes land. I visited during low tide. I was able to explore the area around the island, which is usually considered dangerous to walk around without a guide.
