Shangri-La Wudi Lake Travel Notes 🌄 Morning Departure: • We departed from Shangri-La City at around 8:30 am and drove along the winding mountain road. Along the way, we enjoyed the stunning scenery, including snow-capped mountains🏔️, campsites, and primeval forests🌳, as if we were in a series of vivid paintings. 🚗 Road Experience: • The road to Wudi Lake is a bit difficult to drive on, and cars with higher chassis are probably easier to drive. There are landslide sections on the road, with two more serious ones. There are no guardrails on the side, and the steepness is quite intimidating. 🌿 Wudi Lake Scenery: • Wudi Lake, meaning "Wodi Tso" in Tibetan, is located in the heart of Dilong Snow Mountain. It is a high-altitude snowmelt lake at an elevation of 3,800 meters, consisting of two plateau lakes. The lake water is clear, reflecting the towering snow-capped mountains; the forest is dense, with fir trees covered in moss reaching the sky; the water plants are lush, with lazy cattle and sheep scattered around; time passes slowly, with long smoke rising from the wooden houses; birds sing and cicadas chirp, making this hidden paradise full of spiritual energy. 🏞️ Hiking Experience: • We not only hiked around the lake but also arranged for camping at Wudi Lake, immersing ourselves in the tranquility of this secret place. • Leisurely Wudi Lake Hiking Route: No guide is needed, as this route has minimal elevation gain. You can leisurely walk and take photos along the way. It doesn't require much physical strength, making it perfect for beginners with no high-altitude climbing experience. The total hiking time is 3 hours. 🍽 Dining Experience: • Meixiang Cheese Factory, a restaurant run by locals. When ordering, you can go to the kitchen to see the dishes and order. The owner will introduce what dishes can be stir-fried and how to cook them. The dishes are mainly stir-fried, with good taste, normal prices, and portions. 🏕️ Accommodation Experience: • Wudi Lake Secret Tent Camp, where you can set up your own tent or book a tent at the camp. The advantage is its location next to Wudi Lake, but the downside is the high price of over 1,000 yuan. Even if you bring your own tent, it costs 200 yuan per tent. 📸 Photography Tips: • The moss forest by the lake is a great place for photography. The misty mountains and the small yellow flowers by the lake add a lot of wild charm. 💡 Precautions: • Since Wudi Lake is located in a high-altitude area, visitors need to be aware of altitude sickness, take appropriate rest, and avoid strenuous exercise during their visit. • The natural environment around Wudi Lake is fragile, so visitors need to protect the environment, not litter, and not damage the vegetation during their visit.
