A fairytale campsite at the foot of Haba Snow Mountain

Last summer, I was drawn to the wooden cabins, alpine pastures, and forest hikes at Dela Camp, so I decided to visit this May Day holiday. Dela Camp: Located at the foot of Haba Snow Mountain, at an altitude of 3,200 meters, it takes 3 hours to drive from Lijiang, passing through Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area, to Haba Village, and then up a small road to Dela Camp. The camp has a single wooden cabin and some tents. Haba Snow Mountain is snow-capped all year round, and the wooden cabin looks like something out of a fairytale against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, alpine meadows, and dark green trees. Light hiking on the plateau: If you're traveling with children or have low stamina, you can take the easiest route and hire a local guide. The scenery is beautiful, and the mountains are covered with rhododendrons in May. You can ride a mule and pick flowers along the way. We took a break at the sheepfold pasture halfway through the hike. Emerging from the rhododendron-lined path, we were greeted by a vast alpine pasture, with scattered flocks of sheep grazing and bleating. We had lunch in a wooden cabin on the pasture, and our guide made us butter tea. We sipped butter tea while watching the sheep run by, and occasionally saw hikers heading to higher altitudes. It rained a little on the way back, so we took another flower-filled path, with moss-covered deadwood and rhododendrons, passing through some alpine pastures that looked like a fairyland.
