Contented in the foothills, joyful among the mountains | Nestled in the poetic landscape

The Lan Ting An Lu Hotel in Shaoxing is not actually located in the Lan Ting scenic area, but rather on the nearby Wan Wei Mountain, surrounded by mountains on three sides, backed by a peach blossom forest, built along the mountain's contour with staggered heights and trees providing seclusion. The terrain creates the effect of a three-tiered spring, with stream water flowing down from the mountain ravine to the Jian Long Tan, splitting the hotel in two, with guest rooms and public facilities facing each other. At the entrance is a cherry blossom forest, and the main hall, originally belonging to the Anhui General's Mansion, serves as the hotel lobby. With double courtyards, Luo Guo rafters, round column carvings, and blue brick flooring. A hundred craftsmen, through the highly refined 'three-carving' technique, restored the Ming and Qing Hui-style architecture, bringing back the white walls, black tiles, and horse-head walls of a southern courtyard. Climbing up the hotel's back mountain, one encounters the Yang Ming Cave Heaven, one of the ten great Daoist cave heavens, Ge Hong's Dan Well, and the cliff inscription of 'Long Rui Gong Ji' written by He Zhizhang. Where exactly Wang Yangming's stone cave dwelling is located is unknown, but halfway up the mountain there is a reconstructed Yang Ming Thatched Cottage. The sun shines brightly overhead, and coming down from halfway up the mountain, the clear water of Jian Long Tan rushes towards you, refreshingly intoxicating, making one truly want to plunge in headfirst. The hotel has a total of 88 rooms, with 5 room types: Wan Wei Pavilion, Ruo Ye Pavilion, Yang Ming Pavilion, Lan Ting Pavilion, and An Lu Pavilion. Among them, Wan Wei and Ruo Ye are the basic room types, 60 square meters, with the same structure, the difference being that Ruo Ye has a small courtyard on the first floor, while Wan Wei is on the second floor. Yang Ming and Lan Ting are independent courtyards renovated from old Ming and Qing buildings, 160 square meters, with the same interior furnishings, the difference being that Lan Ting Pavilion is by the water (Jian Long Tan), while Yang Ming Pavilion is not. The most luxurious is the An Lu Pavilion, a 260 square meter, two-story villa, but not in the old building Chinese style like Yang Ming and Lan Ting. My personal favorite is the Lan Ting Pavilion! If considering the budget, Ruo Ye and Wan Wei are also very good, after all, Wan Wei Mountain and Jian Long Tan are shared by all hotel guests!
