I went to Lili Ancient Town. I had never heard of it before, but I thought I might as well go since I was getting a free ride. I didn't expect it to take just over an hour to get there. I thought the ancient town would be similar to Tongli, Xizhuang, and Wuzhen, but my visit to Lili completely changed my mind. Lili is located in Wujiang, Suzhou. It is not crowded and retains the charm of the Ming and Qing dynasties. As I strolled through the streets and alleys of the ancient town, I saw the residents living by the water. The river was clear and sparkling, reflecting the ancient buildings and leisurely residents. Although there are commercial shops in the ancient town, it is not just a commercial place. It has more of a living atmosphere. When I was thirsty, I asked a shopkeeper if I could have some hot water. They readily agreed and enthusiastically poured me a cup of hot water. This simple folk custom made me feel the warmth of home. Here, the distance between people seems to be shortened. Whether tourists or residents, everyone can feel each other's sincerity and kindness. Walking through the streets and alleys of the ancient town, I felt like I was in a flowing historical painting. Let's talk about the food in the ancient town first. The oil lamp is fragrant, the mung bean cake is soft and sweet, and the green dumplings are green and tempting. These traditional snacks are neatly placed in front of the shops, tempting people to taste them. The cured meat hanging in front of the shop adds a unique flavor to the ancient town. In addition to food, the tea rooms and coffee shops in the ancient town are also full of life. In the tea room, people drink tea, talk, and laugh, enjoying their leisure time. In the coffee shop, soft music accompanies the aroma of coffee, making people feel peaceful and comfortable. Here, everything seems so harmonious and beautiful.
