Exploring Artistic Alleys and Urban Vibrancy: A Two-Day Journey in Taipei and Taichung's Audit Village

Day 1: Early in the morning, I took a train from Taipei to Taichung to begin my two-day exploration. Upon arrival, I headed straight to Taichung's cultural hotspot, Audit Village, a cultural settlement transformed from old dormitories, brimming with a strong artistic atmosphere. Every alley here holds surprises, with mural walls, vintage-style cafes, independent bookstores, and handmade stalls everywhere. I particularly liked a shop selling handmade plants and chose a mini succulent as a souvenir. At noon, I enjoyed a rich latte and a special salad at a popular light meal restaurant, savoring the food while watching the endless stream of visitors outside the window, experiencing the unique slow-paced lifestyle here. In the afternoon, I strolled along the tree-lined streets to the Calligraphy Greenway, a vibrant path that blends nature and art, attracting many tourists with street performers. I also made a brief stop at the nearby National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts to admire some contemporary art exhibits. In the evening, I returned to Taipei, rested at the hotel, and then headed to Ningxia Night Market to enjoy Taiwanese night market delicacies. Oyster omelet, braised pork rice, and shaved ice were on my must-eat list, each bite filled with authentic Taiwanese flavors. This day found the perfect balance between creativity and the local lifestyle. Day 2: On the second day, I chose to focus on urban exploration, delving into Taipei's cultural and historical sites. In the morning, I visited Longshan Temple, an ancient temple with a bustling incense scene, and its solemn architecture and exquisite carvings were awe-inspiring. I then went to the nearby Bopiliao Historical Block, where the red-brick old streets preserve the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty, making it feel like a step back in time, with the old charm of Taipei coming to life. At noon, I headed to Ximending, a trendy landmark, to enjoy a bowl of signature beef noodles, with its rich broth and chewy noodles making my mouth water. In the afternoon, I ascended the Taipei 101 Observatory to overlook the entire city from above, admiring Taipei's bustling scenery. In the evening, I went to Daan Forest Park, strolling amidst the greenery and feeling the natural tranquility within the city. Before ending the trip, I found a literary cafe in a nearby alley, concluding this journey filled with creativity and culture. These two days, from Taichung's Audit Village to Taipei's historical and modern landmarks, blended the essence of humanity and nature, making me appreciate Taiwan's diversity and beauty even more.
