Aurora Sighting Near Finnish Border

#europetrip We went on a northern tour with the Tromso Friluftsenter to catch a glimpse of the Northern Light. In the evening our group was picked up by our guide with his mini bus in front of the Scandic Ishavhotel in Tromso. We had to drive up to the finish border (2,5 hours drive). Guides from different tour groups keep each other informed during the hunt for the northern light, so everyone has the best chance to see the light. Near the finish border there was a clear sky. The guide stopped the bus next to the side of the road. We only had to wait a few minutes before the northern light appeared in the sky. The guide brought his foto camera and took pictures of everyone who wanted their picture taken with the northern light. The company provides the pictures for everyone without any extra charge. Additionally, the guide provided us with some hot choco and some cake in between the foto shoots! There was plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the starry sky and the dancing of the northern lights. Certainly an experience to never forget!
