#WinterTravel This trip… invite you to walk and take pictures around the Washington Monument. It is located between The Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. It was built in 1848 but was officially opened on October 9, 1888. We didn't go inside because it was getting dark and we still had to go to the Lincoln Memorial. This time, we only took pictures of the cold atmosphere around the monument instead. Free admission. Opening hours: 09:00-17:00. Free tickets are given out on a first-come, first-served basis at 08:45. Inside, it takes 70 seconds to take the elevator from the ground floor to the observation deck, which is 500 feet high.
