Kazan Kremlin
Beautiful Kazan
Getting There - I arrived in Kazan in early September from Istanbul
Attractions - Kazan has many attractions but the one I loved to be at was the Kazan Opera with its decorations and outstanding performance shows. I had the opportunity to attend "The Grey Hord", an amazing opera combining Tatar folks and classic dance with a real orchestra. If you plan to visit Kazan check the Kazan Opera website to found out what their schedule.
Food & Restaurants - Kazan is a city with full range of all kinds of restaurants. I used to go to this coffee and bakery not far from the Kremlin. It's called Malvic
Shopping -Many great shopping malls in the city but the one I went often is called Kazan Mall.
This is a beautiful building that you can see from the Kremlin above or from the esplanade waterfront. It is the exterior that is worth the look. You are not allowed in side. The architecture and metal tree sculpture in the center doorway are something to see.

This is really people-watchers' paradise! A broad street, with no traffic, and plenty of people, locals and tourists, lots of families, lots of kids. Apart from that, there are plenty of interesting things to see on this street: the Kazan cat, Catherine the Great's carriage, the dragon monument, etc...etc... Not to mention the numerous restaurants, boutiques etc...etc... The ideal time for a casual stroll down this street is probably in the evening. I walked down the street in daytime, it was quite nice. If you are in Kazan for a couple of days, keep some time aside for this street! Well worth the effort.

"Kremlin" means "fortress" and that means that there are kremlins in various Russian cities. This is one is amazing with beautiful blue mosque and Orthodox church as well as other interesting buildings. It has a great view over the Volga river and part of the city. A beautiful wrought iron gate includes pagan symbols evoking the very rich history of this region and the fact that people of many different religions live at peace with each other in this well-off academic city and capital of Tartarstan.

There was not much time in Kazan, so I went straight to the center of the Kremlin. This is the first Kremlin I saw in Russia. All kinds of small spires illuminate the skyline and touch the human heart. Very beautiful.
At that time, it was difficult to describe the first feeling after entering the Kremlin. In addition, the state of serious lack of feelings felt that everything was very beautiful. Now I think it might be more appropriate to change a word.
From the Spasta House into the Kremlin, such a beautiful place does not accept tickets, people are moved, this is enough to make the Kremlin in Moscow feel ashamed, it may be that the monks feel that they have to compare Slavs is on the high side.
The monk departed from the Mongolian rule earlier than the Slavs, and earlier began to build the city according to his own wishes. The Kremlin was built on the foundation of the original Mongolian castle, and it was just raised. The city wall and the two towers, and later the Khan began to become artistic, and they added the buildings one by one according to their own ideas, which became what they are today.
Explore Kazan: Beautiful Scenery at the Crossroads of Cultures
Kazan, a charming city with a rich cultural heritage, is like an open-air museum, showcasing its unique charm and painting a dreamlike landscape for the world to see.
Kazan University is undoubtedly a cultural landmark in the city, with its classical buildings, solemn colonnades, and walls covered with traces of time. It was here that Lenin once studied diligently. Walking through the campus, you can almost hear the students' voices and feel the lively atmosphere of intellectual exchange. The campus is lush with greenery, with roses blooming in the gardens and trees providing shade. The students, full of youthful energy, add to the harmonious blend of knowledge and natural beauty.
In the old town of Kazan, the cobblestone streets wind and twist, leading you through the river of history. Traditional handicraft workshops line the streets, where Tatar artisans focus on carving wooden ornaments and weaving exquisite carpets, showcasing their unique craftsmanship. Looking up, you can see the minarets towering into the sky, contrasting with the onion-domed Orthodox churches. The harmonious coexistence of Islamic and Orthodox elements bears witness to the blending of different beliefs.
The natural scenery in the suburbs is also a highlight. Vast forests stretch endlessly, lush and green in summer, with the sound of pine trees swaying in the breeze, making it a perfect place to escape the heat. In autumn, the forest transforms into a colorful fairy tale world, with golden birch leaves and fiery red maple leaves falling gently, creating a soft "carpet." Streams flow through the forest, and a handful of clear spring water is refreshing and sweet. This pure and natural scenery is like a paradise behind the city, offering a peaceful retreat.
Kazan: A Beautiful Painting of History and Nature
Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, is like a hidden gem on the East European Plain. It is a city that combines rich history and beautiful natural scenery.
When you enter Kazan, the Kremlin complex will immediately catch your eye. The red walls are majestic, the towers are numerous, and the ancient stone walls tell the story of past wars and glory. The Suyumbike Tower is unique, with its slanted body like a silent guard, and the legend adds a mysterious veil to it. Inside the palace, the golden dome of the Annunciation Cathedral shines, with intricate carvings and gorgeous murals, a perfect blend of Byzantine and Tatar styles. When you step inside, you will feel a sense of solemnity and holiness.
Walking along the Volga River, the vast expanse of water seems endless. The gentle river breeze blows away the summer heat. The riverside park is lush with green grass and colorful flowers, where locals enjoy picnics, strolls, and games, with laughter echoing along the riverbank. In the summer evenings, the sunset dyes the river orange-red, and the shimmering waves look like flowing molten gold. In winter, the frozen river becomes a natural ice rink, where children play and slide with full energy.
The streets and alleys of Kazan are also full of charm, with traditional Tatar wooden houses scattered around, colorful carved window frames, and wooden porches showing folk customs. Walking around, you can also encounter various Tatar food shops, with the aroma of baked buns filling the air. A bite of juicy lamb with crispy pastry will fill your taste buds with exotic flavors, making you linger and fall in love with this charming city.

On the vast land of Russia, Kazan is like a multifaceted gem, with solemn historical relics, vibrant natural scenery, and a rich city life. These three elements intertwine to create a unique urban landscape.
Historical sites are the soul of Kazan. The Kazan Kremlin, a World Heritage Site, is magnificent, with every brick and stone bearing the weight of time. Adjacent to it is Bauman Street, where the cobblestones bear the footprints of past caravans. The old shops along the street sell traditional clothing and handicrafts. Touching the Tatar embroidered handkerchiefs and bone-carved combs, you can feel the warmth of history.
The Volga and Kazanka rivers flow through the city, adding a touch of vibrancy to Kazan. The riverside promenade is a favorite among locals and tourists. In the morning, joggers greet the rising sun, breathing in the fresh, moisture-laden air. In the afternoon, couples stroll hand in hand, while boats pass by on the river, creating ripples. In the evening, the setting sun casts its glow on the river, creating a scene of tranquility as birds return to their nests, their silhouettes crossing the sky.
The city life gives Kazan its vibrant vitality. The local markets are bustling, with fresh fruits and vegetables neatly arranged, glistening with an enticing sheen. The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air, with a crispy crust and a soft interior. Long queues form in front of Tatar food stalls, where the hot pilaf, a blend of lamb, carrots, and raisins, is soft and sweet, full of the flavors of life. As night falls, laughter and melodious songs emanate from the taverns, where people raise their glasses, sharing the day's stories. Here, the charm of Kazan is deeply rooted in everyday life, leaving a lasting impression.

5️⃣ The next stop is Kazan, one of Russia's cultural centers and a microcosm of multiculturalism. In the Kazan Kremlin, we witnessed the scene of Orthodox churches and mosques standing side by side, and this religious inclusiveness reflects the unique charm of Kazan. The blue and white domes of the Qolşärif Mosque are breathtakingly beautiful, and the quiet atmosphere inside the mosque is awe-inspiring.
6️⃣ Finally, we arrived at the end of the journey, the Russian capital, Moscow. The vastness of Red Square and the colorful St. Basil's Cathedral are breathtaking. People here walk in a hurry, but they take a leisurely stroll along the Moscow River at night, showing the rhythm of this metropolis intertwined with busyness and leisure.
7️⃣ Along the way, we not only crossed the geographical mountains and rivers, but also felt the diversity of culture.
