Okinawa: A Dreamy Blue Encounter
In the far western Pacific Ocean, there is a bright pearl—Okinawa.
The sea here is a dreamy blue. The white sand beaches and blue waters embrace each other like a beautiful painting by nature. You can walk on the beach, feel the fine sand gently rubbing under your feet, and the sea breeze blowing on your face, bringing the breath of the sea.
Okinawa also has a unique cultural charm. The ancient Ryukyu Kingdom ruins carry the weight of history. The red-tiled roofs and stone-walled alleys all tell stories of the past.
The food is also a highlight of Okinawa. Fresh seafood dishes will immerse your taste buds in the deliciousness of the ocean. There are also special Okinawan dishes, and their unique flavors will make you linger.
Come to Okinawa and immerse yourself in the blue sky and sea, feel the blend of history and modernity, enjoy an unforgettable travel feast, and leave your beautiful memories. This is a place for your soul to rest, a dream vacation paradise.
Okinawa Must-Visit Spots
Okinawa Naminoue Shrine
💫💫💫💫💫
One of the must-visit spots in Okinawa, this shrine is uniquely built on a cliff and has a rich history. The entire structure is well-maintained, offering a great opportunity to experience local culture. There is a free parking lot, and it is very close to the city center, which attracts many visitors. The environment is very quiet and solemn, and the nearby beach is incredibly beautiful with stunning scenery. Be sure to take a walk around, it's definitely worth it.
Okinawa Beautiful Aquarium
Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
💫💫💫💫💫
Okinawa's famous aquarium is vast and home to a wide variety of marine life. Outdoors, you can feed sea turtles and see various marine creatures through large floor-to-ceiling windows, including the famous whale sharks. The whale sharks are truly enormous, filling the entire aquarium. The classic dolphin show and feeding shows are spectacular. Visitors come to see whale sharks, sharks, manta rays, many tropical fish, jellyfish, and more. It's an amazing place worth visiting.
Okinawa Southeast Botanical Gardens
Tall palm trees typical of Okinawa stand under the blue sky, offering a unique tropical landscape.
It felt like exploring a jungle.
Interacting with animals was also fun.
It is also recommended because it is close to the Churaumi Aquarium, making it easy to visit before or after the aquarium.
Came to Japan for six days, and only then did I realize how great Shanghai is!
After six days in Japan, it feels so good to land in Shanghai today!
✔️ Finally, I don't have to smile and nod to everyone, being overly polite to everyone . When I first arrived in Japan, I thought the Japanese were too polite, with a strong sense of service. After a few days, it felt too exhausting to keep up the act, constantly saying thank you so much, arigato...
✔️ Finally, I don't have to stay in a very small hotel anymore, though being poor is my problem~
✔️ Finally, I don't have to hesitate to take a taxi; taxis here are really expensive. It cost nearly 500 RMB to take a taxi from Haneda Airport to the Akasaka hotel. However, Japan's subway and bus systems are very developed, and you can get to where you want to go using public transportation.
✔️ Finally, I can eat watermelon and other fruits in big bites. Fruits here are quite expensive, displayed very delicately, and taste very good. Back home, I will eat fruits to my heart's content.
✔️ Finally, I can walk on the street while drinking coffee and eating. In Japan, you don't see people eating on the streets, and even in shopping malls, you have to eat in designated areas. Once, we bought egg tarts and couldn't find a place to eat them all the way. We took them to a restaurant for lunch, thinking we could finally eat them, but the waiter told us we couldn't eat outside food.
Of course, the service industry in Japan is really great, the restrooms are incredibly clean, everyone follows the rules, and everything is done with great care. It's worth coming to visit, to learn from their strengths and use them to our advantage.
In the next few days after returning home, I will definitely go for some hot pot
Discover Okinawa: Your Ultimate Guide to Japan’s Tropical Paradise
**Experiences and Tips:**
Okinawa, Japan’s southernmost prefecture, is a tropical paradise brimming with stunning beaches, rich culture, and mouthwatering cuisine. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your visit:
1. **Explore Beyond Naha:** While Naha, the capital city, offers great shopping and dining, the real beauty of Okinawa lies in its islands. Head to Ishigaki or Miyakojima for pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs. Snorkeling or diving here is an absolute must.
2. **Rent a Car:** Public transportation on Okinawa’s main island is limited, so renting a car is the best way to explore at your own pace. Drive along the scenic coastline, visit remote beaches, and take in breathtaking views from Cape Manzamo.
3. **Immerse in Ryukyu Culture:** Okinawa has a distinct culture, different from mainland Japan. Visit Shurijo Castle to learn about the Ryukyu Kingdom’s history. Don’t miss out on a traditional Eisa dance performance, especially during the summer festivals.
4. **Savor the Local Cuisine:** Okinawan food is unique and delicious. Try “goya champuru,” a stir-fry dish featuring bitter melon, tofu, and pork. “Taco rice” is another local favorite—a fusion of American and Japanese flavors. And don’t forget to sip on some awamori, the local distilled spirit.
5. **Relax on the Beach:** With some of Japan’s best beaches, Okinawa is perfect for relaxation. Visit Emerald Beach in the Ocean Expo Park for its soft white sand, or escape to the less crowded, but equally beautiful, Yonaha Maehama Beach.
6. **Respect the Marine Life:** While enjoying the ocean, be mindful of Okinawa’s delicate marine ecosystem. Avoid stepping on coral reefs and remember to bring eco-friendly sunscreen to protect both your skin and the sea life.
7. **Time Your Visit:** Okinawa’s climate is warm year-round, but the best time to visit is from April to June or September to November. These months offer pleasant weather without the crowds of peak summer.

A must-go in Okinawa💗Southeast Botanical Garden
#100 Ways to Travel
In addition to visiting the aquarium, you must also visit the Southeast Botanical Park🌴 when traveling to Okinawa!
In addition to lots of plants to see, there are also super many small animals 🐿️! The animals we can see up close this time are: capybaras🦦, birds🦩, monkeys🐒, turtles🐢, etc... We also tried to buy lettuce to feed them, although a bit scared, but small animals are good So cute 🥰

5 days and 4 nights on the MSC Glory cruise, a different travel experience
In July, during the summer vacation, I learned that the MSC Glory was coming to Shenzhen Port, so I immediately booked a balcony room. With great anticipation, I set off with my parents and children for a 5-day, 4-night trip, with a stopover in Okinawa, Japan. The experience on the ship was really good. The elderly could go to the buffet restaurant whenever they wanted to eat, and the children could play in the water in their swimsuits. We watched all four evening shows, which were very exciting. I highly recommend the balcony room; the views of the blue sea and sky are stunning. It's a different travel experience!

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Play as Ariel and go on an adventure in the beautiful underwater world
At Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, everyone
Let's experience the lives of cute underwater animals
See a big whale shark in a huge and magnificent tank
The highlight that you can't miss is 'The Kuroshio Sea', the main tank that can hold up to 7,500 cubic meters of water, 10 meters deep, installed from the 1st to the 2nd floor of the museum. There are over 65 species of aquatic animals in here, but the stars of the tank are the big whale shark and manta rays. Small fish and other fish swim around and show off. The underwater world here is truly amazing and magnificent. I want to be Ariel and swim there. 555+
Churaumi Aquarium is a must-see if you visit Okinawa because it is the largest aquarium in Japan. Anyone who has been there will say in unison that it is very good, very good, and very beautiful. You must go. Don't miss it.
▪️Directions: From Naha Airport Take the Yanbaru Express Bus (Naha airport – Churaumi aquarium – Unten Port route) for 2 hours and 40 minutes. We rented a car to drive around by ourselves.

[Okinawa | Okinawa City] Recommended for girls' trips and trips with children! Southeast Botanical Gardens 🌴
On the last day of my trip to Okinawa in 2023, I stopped by Chura-Yashi Park Okinawa Southeast Botanical Gardens on the way to the airport. 🌴
It's a spot you have to get to by car, but there are small animals and photo spots, so I thought it was a place that both adults and children could enjoy. ♡
I visited on a girls' trip this time, and it was fun to take photos that look like they were in the tropics. ◎
The avenue lined with palm trees was very impressive. 🤭
It would have been even better if it had been sunny. .
It's a spot I'd like to go back to again. ❤️🔥

Okinawa Tunchi: The Mysterious Pond with Mermaid Legends.
Tunchi is a national scenic spot and natural monument. From above, the two ponds of similar size resemble a pair of eyes, hence they are also known as the Dragon's Eyes. The cobalt blue waters of Tunchi are separated by a natural stone bridge. In fact, the ponds are connected underwater, and the one closer to the sea is also connected to the open sea. The name Tunchi comes from this connection. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the pondside trail to appreciate the scenery.
To truly see this rare geographical feature, one must dive into the water to explore and experience its unique charm. However, caution is advised as the pond is about 50 meters deep and the journey involves passing through a dark underwater tunnel, which can be quite challenging for novice divers. Why has Tunchi become a diving hotspot? The unique topography is certainly a highlight, but the area is also where freshwater and seawater meet, creating a thermocline phenomenon that forms a unique natural landscape. Of course, the mysterious Tunchi has been associated with mermaid legends since ancient times. It is said that after a mermaid was captured by a fisherman, the King of the Sea, in a rage, caused a tsunami that formed Tunchi. It is unknown whether divers come here with the hope of seeing mermaids.
Illumination
#thingstodo I have been to Southeast Botanical Gardens on multiple and each time it is a different experience. You are able to get a daytime experience without the illuminations and nighttime for the illuminations. You will not be disappointed whichever time you go, but recommend the with the illuminations. If you don’t mind walking and beautiful sights, this is the place for you. There are some hills, small and large. The cost to visit is very inexpensive as well. Amble of parking is available on the top and bottom of the hill. I have not had the opportunity to eat at the restaurant. Ensure to bring change (¥100’s) so you can buy food to feed the fishes, goats, monkeys, etc. this place is like a get away from the city. I guarantee you will enjoy the visit and experience. Suggest some bug spray or long sleeves in the summer time as there can be mosquitoes out. Thank you for reading my review. I hope that you find this review helpful and display your appreciation with a thumbs up.

The air is filled with rich floral fragrance and moist breath, making me feel like I am in a mysterious tropical adventure! 🌿🌺🌴

🏰🎢🌈Okinawa Children’s Kingdom~Happy Paradise🏰🎢🌈
Okinawa Children’s Kingdom is an absolutely dazzling place! When I stepped into this kingdom full of joy, I was surrounded by colorful rides and fairy-tale scenery, as if I was in a fantasy land where childhood dreams come true🎠🎡🎪
First, we entered the Magic Museum. This amazing place is full of fantasy and the fun of exploration. The children explored various displays, from dinosaur fossils to space exploration. Each exhibition brought me endless surprises and knowledge, and I even experienced A virtual reality game, travel through time and space and adventure with 🆚dinosaurs🦖🚀🕹️
Then we came to the small paradise, which is a place full of laughter and happiness! The children got on the small train🚄, and also participated in a colorful bubble party, as if they were in a sea of colorful bubbles in a fairy tale world🎠🎢🎉
Then we participated in some interactive activities and had close contact with animals. The children played with the red pandas and touched the soft fur; they had a friendly hug with the little kangaroos; they also observed the graceful swimming of penguins in the water. These babies really let children feel the wonder and beauty of the animal world🐼🤗🐨
In every corner of the children's kingdom, I really felt the joy of childlike innocence and the excitement of adventure. Every ride and display was full of surprises and fun, making me feel like I was back in my carefree childhood. So, if you come to Okinawa, don’t miss this children’s kingdom that will fill you with laughter and surprises! 🏰🎢🌈

OKINAWA ZOO
Okinawa zoo was such a great experience we saw so many animals including lions bears and even mandrels the part as a very cool event during the summer that allows it to stay open at night we really enjoyed feeding fish for ¥100 at night. My wife’s favorite animal is elephants but keep in mind when we went there were no elephants at that time. there are though many giraffes at least three.
Amazing hotel with an ONSEN!
Ryukyu Onsen Senagajima Hotel is my favorite hotel in Okinawa. It’s one of the several hotels with an in-hotel onsen or hot spring in Okinawa. The male and female onsen switches daily and it’s free for hotel stayers. We went morning and night because we liked it so much! It is a stunning place with a beautiful view of the turquoise sea. The amenities are also great, beds are super comfy and breakfast is delicious.

Ryukyu Onsen Senagajima Hotel 琉球温泉 瀬長島ホテル
A onsen hotel located at west side and close to airport. Good place for relaxing .... but the breakfast place is always crowded, because no other option for food in the island. Some rooms with spring bath can see the airplane landing in the frame of unforgettable beautiful sunset.
Highly recommend to visit Umikaji Terrace near the hotel for dessert and drinks.... chill. Suggest to arrive 60 minutes before the sun reach the line. Even there is close to the airport but the plane noise is nothing. We will visit here again.
Okinawa Attraction: Ta-Taki Waterfalls

1570-1 Tsuha, Ōgimi, Kunigami District, Okinawa 905-1318
The address is the parking lot. If you love hikes and you’re all about “the journey is more important than the destination” then this is a place for you. I think August is the best time to go and hike and swim because it’s not overwhelming humid. It’s bearable. Make sure to wear proper footwear because hiking with flip flops was the worst!!! 😂
Okinawa Attraction: SE Botanical Gardens
Southeast Botanical Gardens is the definition of floral and fauna. There’s various types of flowers and trees. They also have goats, rabbits, capybara, and other types of animals that you can pet or see up close. You can also pay a small fee to feed them as well!
On special occasions, the garden turns into a beautiful light show. Seeing the lily pads is my favorite :)
2146 Chibana, Okinawa, 904-2143, Japan
Shuri Castle (Shuri-jo)
Shuri Castle (Shuri-jo), located on a low hill surrounded by open curved stone walls, is a beautiful red castle that stands out from other places because it was influenced by China. There are dragon wood carvings on the gables and roofs. It is an Okinawan castle. When I went, it was closed for renovation, but now it should be open for visits as usual. The path from the entrance to the castle is quite far like other castles in Japan. I recommend that you go and take a look. On the way to the castle, there is a watercourse with interesting things to see. It's beautiful. #Shuri Castle #Japan
บางปีเที่ยว บางปีไม่เที่ยว Okinawa.. Dreaming of your Beauty
Rarely see a town that make me feel so peaceful and yet so full of surprise and excitement.
Our Mother vessel docked in the bay and we have to take shuttle boat to the beautiful city of Okinawa. On the day, the sky was so clear and blue. It made our heart filled with excitement and anticipation. You bet what was on your mind… Ramen… it was so delicious.. I just had to have a second serving. Thinking of it now, my mouth starts to salivate. LOL.
The town centre is very enticing for tourist and shoppers. A Main Street where all of us just immerse in the atmosphere of excitement. so many food and delicacies. well well well, we couldn’t have enough of it.
I and a few buddies just sat on the side bench of the road, enjoying all the people passing by and living their life. it’s so simple and basic life if compare to hushed and busy life in Tokyo. I wouldn’t mind spending months here to make my busy life coming to a natural pace.
when the time came to board the ship again, we all had the feeling of sayonara to this beautiful town. we know one day we will be back again.
….. I will always Dreaming of your beauty.
Lots of greenery: Southeast Okinawa Botanical Garden
