[Travel to France] Mysterious Mont Saint-Michel Tour🏰
Mont Saint-Michel tour, perfect for a tour near France!
This place is famous for being a filming location for dramas/movies, Howl's Moving Castle, and Disney Castle motifs~
It had a unique atmosphere and the surrounding area was made up of mudflats, so it was amazing~Be careful because you might not be able to go out due to the high and low tides🏰

Mont Saint-Michel, the setting for Disney's Tangled
Mont Saint-Michel, the setting for Disney's Rapunzel
A small island village in the middle of the sea with high and low tide
Have you ever heard of Mont Saint-Michel?
Actually, it's a monastery!!
There's a monastery on the top of the island
It's a small, sacred island with a few shops and restaurants below
I was lucky enough to see Mont Saint-Michel floating on the water because the evening I went was high tide!
Oh, by the way, skirts and shoes are not recommended when you go.. I took 20,000 steps that day,,
And the top of the island? Go up the stairs.. Hehe

Mont Saint-Michel, France
World Heritage Site Mont Saint-Michel
I went there on a tour from Japan.
I wanted to go to Mont Saint-Michel,
and I looked for a tour to stay near Mont Saint-Michel.
If you go on a tour, they will take you right to the place even if it is far away,
so I use it when I want to go to a faraway place.
If you go on a tour, they will explain a lot of things to you, so it is useful.
I forget what I hear though. lol
There are also one-day tours from Paris,
so if you have free time while sightseeing in Paris, I recommend taking a tour from the local area.

Outside Mont Saint-Michel, there are vast tidal flats/seas/plains. It's hard to see the horizon in Korea, but looking at the endless land, my heart feels like it's opening up!
I definitely recommend visiting if you're traveling to Europe.
However, it's quite high, so if you have a fear of heights, don't look down.

Sometimes you just feel like flying - especially when the clouds are lacey above your head, and the sky is French blue, and the landscaoe is eerie and inviting you into a fairy-tale.

Mont Saint-Michel, France🇫🇷 Mont Saint-Michel, the inspiration for Rapunzel's Castle
If you're a Disney and Rapunzel fan, you must visit Mont Saint-Michel💜💜
I think that when you go on a long-distance tour, the tour is greatly affected by the guide and the people you tour with. When I toured Mont Saint-Michel, there were a total of 4 people, including a mother and daughter, a European student, and me. Everyone was kind and talked well, so we chatted and took pictures together. I think we had a really fun time :)
We also went into Mont Saint-Michel Abbey together, looked around, and took pictures together. Maybe because the weather was good, the abbey looked even prettier😍😍
The shops at Mont Saint-Michel closed early, so after seeing the abbey, I didn't get to see anything😂😂 It was nice just walking around the area🩵🩵
When I arrived, the weather was so good that I thought I would be able to see the sunset, but in the evening, there were a lot of clouds and fog, so I couldn't see it properly, and the lights weren't on much because COVID-19 wasn't completely over, so it was really disappointing🥲🥲
But just The scenery of Mont Saint-Michel itself was so enchanting💜💜
Even though it was May, the wind was no joke at night, so I was surprised😖😖 I was waiting to see the night view, and it was so funny that there was only a Korean tour group😂😂 Koreans with strong determination!
If you want to see an enchanting scenery, I really recommend the Mont Saint-Michel tour👏🏻👏🏻 Each tour has a different package, but I highly recommend the Etretat and Honfleur packages! They are all tourist attractions with the ocean, but each has its own charm, so I think I made a good choice by choosing this package:)
✔️Opening hours: Mon-Sun 09:00-18:00
✔️Location L'Abbaye, 50170 Le Mont-Saint-Michel, France
✔️Tip
- The restaurants around the monastery are expensive, so I recommend eating before entering the island!
- If you go on a tour, check out the shops first:)
- If you go in spring, make sure to bring a coat!

A Harry Potteresque Gothic Gem
#myhiddengems
While in Paris, we did debate about whether the 4 hr long journey to Mont St. Michel would be worth it or better skipped. Something about it though that gothic element and it reminding me of Harry Potter movies made me want to go. Now that i have done so. Allow me to share a perspective that could help others.
It is located in lower Normandy which as mentioned will take you a good 4 hours to get there. The travel time is what deters people when considering it as a day trip from Paris. There is a direct train from Paris Montparnasse station to Pontorson- Mont St Michel and arrive in 3 hours 45 minutes. Tickets were around 32 USD each way. Then there is the option of travelling by road (bus).
Despite the considerable time that is spent on the journey. Which wasn't all that bad for me as I have my podcasts and what not to listen to/watch and kill time. But this can be tiring physically. So choose a comfortable travel mode. Anywho, upon getting there and the sights it offered. Made the trip worth it for me. It's unusual and you could get some stunning pictures. The setting of the castle too is special.
Here's a pro tip, while you are looking at 350+ steps to climb in the castle. A decent amount of steps can be avoided by taking the Fanils entrance. For me I don't mind stairs at all as they form a regular part of my workout routine. Entry to st Michel is free but entering the abbey would require tickets. And know that it generally is crowded. But this hidden gem can be a great addition to your day trip portfolio while in france.

🏝️Near Paris: Mont Saint-Michel, a monastery on a rocky island
#IslandTrip
I visited on a very sunny and nice day :-) There is a large parking lot at the entrance of the island, so I took a free shuttle bus to the island! As soon as I got off the bus, I could enjoy the beautiful view of Mont Saint-Michel at a glance.ㅜ There are many quaint and beautiful alleys inside the island, and if you walk between the alleys, you can feel the medieval atmosphere~ There is a monastery at the very top of the island, and I recommend you pay the admission fee and go see it. The interior decoration of the monastery is beautiful, and the view from there is also great👀🌷

Mont Saint-Michel can also be said to be the motif of Howl's Moving Castle.
In particular, you can see the beautiful and mysterious monastery of Mont Saint-Michel, which is even more beautiful at night.
You can see it on a day tour departing from Paris,
so I highly recommend it as a Paris tour.

Floating Monastery in France, Mont Saint-Michel
#EuropeanTravel #MontSaintMichel
Last year was the 1000th anniversary of the construction of Mont Saint-Michel! This beautiful building was built as a monastery, but during the war, it was used as a fortress with walls surrounding the entire town, and after the French Revolution, it was used as a prison for prisoners.
I rented a car in Paris and found a nearby accommodation, and visited Mont Saint-Michel 3 times to see the afternoon, late night, and early morning scenery! It is a place that is really impressive with different appearances depending on the time and weather!🥹 Among them, the last visit, early morning, I saw the island and Mont Saint-Michel in the rain, and it was the happiest and most beautiful sight! It will be beautiful in any weather, so visit with peace of mind!
Mont Saint-Michel, which looks like a fantasy floating on water at high tide, will be an unforgettable trip to France for you!

Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, a must-see before you die
📍Mont Saint-Michel, France
🚘About 4 hours by car from Paris
Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy
It is also known as the inspiration for Howl's Moving Castle
And it is a place that is always on the list of places to visit before you die.
You can't drive to Mont Saint-Michel, so you have to walk or take a shuttle bus (free shuttle)
You can tour the village for free, but the inside of the monastery is 🎫13 euros
The monastery was used as a prison for 72 years until 1863 after it was dissolved during the French Revolution, so the inside felt a little empty.
There is a golden statue of St. Michael at the top. He is holding a sword and scales, and the sword is pointing at the sky, so it looks like he could easily get struck by lightning (he was actually struck by lightning 10 times...)🤭
