The food inside the park is expensive and of average taste, it is recommended to bring your own snacks/beverages.
There are many restaurants at the south gate exit: Da Ge Fan, Zhang Ji Wang Jiao Food Street (not Zhang Ji), McDonald's, etc. A bit further away are the very popular Hui Shi Jia and Zhang Ji, with Hui Shi Jia's sizzling pot and eel rice, and Zhang Ji's lamb soup/pot are exceptional, highly recommended by locals 👍

Guangzhou Zoo explicitly rejects ❌ animal performances, and many animals have been rescued from circuses,
We hope that when you come to see the animals, you can be as kind and gentle as possible, and not disturb them.

Every time I visit Guangzhou Zoo, I see that the animals are very comfortable and at ease. The animals have their own names and introductions, and you can feel that they are treated seriously and with respect, and are well cared for.
