I was pleasantly surprised to visit a niche garden and museum for free
☘️☘️☘️
Inside the Shennong Herbal Hall,
the Governor Vessel forms a corridor, the Conception Vessel a stream, the pulse gates like pavilions, and the air passages become bridges.
The upper, middle, and lower dantians each have a scenic platform, with the front, back, left, right, above, and below reflecting each other, creating an interesting pattern.
The layout of the buildings combined with landscape paintings presents a vibrant map of the human body structure,
which is very surprising. 👍🏻
🌾🌾🌾
Hundreds of herbs and thousands of medicines can regulate and save lives.
In the garden, 1300 kinds of medicinal plants sway in the sunlight,
such as Gardenia, Isatis root, Pogostemon cablin, Prunella vulgaris, Southern Yew, and so on,
showing the profoundness of traditional Chinese medicine.
🌱🌱🌱
Medical history relief walls, traditional Chinese medicine science popularization corridors, Wanglaoji herbal tea museum, Lingnan Palace, and various simulation scenes,
make visitors feel immersed in the culture of traditional Chinese medicine,
and admire the light of wisdom of the ancestors.

No place in Jiangnan surpasses the beauty of Baiyun District, a hidden gem of a garden museum
🍃 The best place to play in Guangzhou during summer is undoubtedly the "green lung center" of Baiyun District, as it boasts "mountains beyond mountains, lakes within lakes." The beauty of its mountains and waters is unparalleled in Guangzhou. In addition, Baiyun District harbors many little-known niche attractions, such as the Jiangnan-style "Guangzhou Shennong Caotang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum".
⏰ On May 19th, 2024, the Baiyun District "5·19 China Tourism Day" theme event and the "Cloud·Leisurely Tour" tourism season kick-off ceremony will be held at the Guangzhou Shennong Caotang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum.
🔹 Hua Hua also slowly unveiled the mystery of the Guangzhou Shennong Caotang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum during this trip. It is a national 4A-level scenic spot located at the southern foot of Baiyun Mountain and is the first semi-open traditional Chinese medicine museum in the country that integrates "natural" and "cultural" elements. Inside, there are the Chinese Medicine Garden, Lingnan Medicine Garden, and specially designed Lingnan Palace and Songqiao Palace. The park also features the Hundred-Zhang Qinglong Gallery, Cuju Platform, Famous Prescription Corridor, and more than 1,000 species of medicinal plants.
🟤 Upon entering the park, you will first encounter the Chinese Medicine Garden, which cleverly combines the display of the history and culture of traditional Chinese medicine with the organic planting of native Chinese herbs. It has set up multiple themes such as the history of traditional Chinese medicine, medical theory and properties of medicines, and famous traditional Chinese medicine brands. Visitors can easily experience the splendid and profound culture of traditional Chinese medicine during their tour.
🟢 Stepping into the Lingnan Medicine Garden is like entering a hall of herbs. Here you can meet the "Two-Faced Needle" with needles growing on its leaves, the "Five-Finger Peach" with small fuzzy peaches on its branches, as well as Isatis root, Pinellia, Achyranthes, and other herbal prototypes. While marveling at nature's gifts, one can't help but recall the story of "Shennong Tasting a Hundred Herbs." Many children also love to come here, getting to know each herb through the introduction of their guide, listening to their stories, interacting with the plants up close, and feeling the magic of nature.
☑️ Hidden in the Songqiao Palace is a Wanglaoji Museum. It turns out there really was a person named Wanglaoji; he was from Heshan, Guangdong, named Wang Zebang, styled Ji. When he was young, he was called Aji, and as he aged, he became known as Laoji, hence Wanglaoji. He established the Wanglaoji herbal tea in the eighth year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, which later spread overseas and became known as the "originator of herbal tea."
🍵 In this museum, right at the entrance, there is a "giant herbal tea pot" that is two stories high, perfect for taking photos and checking in. The brand uses six chapters to detail the origin and heritage of China's herbal tea and the over 190-year history of Wanglaoji. Herbal tea enthusiasts from Guangzhou can come here to read in detail and feel the long-standing culture of herbal tea.
📷 The Lingnan Palace is a popular spot for taking photos. At the entrance, there is a Jiangnan-style window scene overlooking a pond in the garden. Standing in front of the window in Hanfu or cheongsam, you become the best scenery. Outside the door, the steps lead down to a viewing platform where you can see the urban landscape near the museum. May is the season when the phoenix flowers bloom, and the enchanting phoenix flowers set against the ancient Lingnan architecture are indescribably beautiful. Lingnan Palace occasionally hosts small theaters with professional NPCs dressed in ancient costumes, simulating the scene of ancient people seeking medical treatment, which is both educational and entertaining, vivid and lively.
👋 Wandering through the garden, you might inadvertently come across intangible cultural heritage stalls, watching the making of Baoji Pills and Angong Niuhuang Pills, and experiencing the magic of traditional culture.

There is a niche museum in Guangzhou that is great for taking kids to check in: Shennong Caotang
There is a very special museum in Guangzhou - Shennong Caotang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum. It is a Guangdong science and education base, very suitable for bringing children to play.
There are several main visiting areas:
✅ Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Science Popularization Corridor
Mainly pictures and texts, popularizing some knowledge about traditional Chinese medicine and health preservation
✅ Medicinal Plant Garden Science Popularization Area
The garden has planted many Chinese herbal medicines and erected many statues, such as Hua Tuo, Tu Youyou, etc.
This is also the best place to take photos. The popular check-in spot - the round arch is in this area, be sure to take a picture.
✅ Lingnan Palace
It displays some traditional Chinese medicine products and scenes, with Chinese Lingnan architectural style. Sometimes there are activities, and there will be immersive experiences here. (Depends on luck)
✅ Wanglaoji Museum
Mainly talks about the development history of Wanglaoji and the history of Lingnan herbal tea, which should be considered the better-looking museum inside the entire Caotang.
We just happened to encounter the 5.19 Tourism Festival, so we just happened to encounter many immersive scenario performances and displays of well-known traditional Chinese medicine brands, which are basically household necessities and well-known items. The experience was still very good.

Compared to the Guangdong Provincial Museum, I prefer the tranquility here
This place is still quite remote.
It would be better to drive or take a taxi, as there is a free parking lot available.
There are relatively few tourists, making it a nice choice for a leisurely stroll and taking photos. The museum is neither too big nor too small, and it is planted with various medicinal herbs.
There are also brief introductions and explanations of the medicinal value of the herbs.
This trip really opened a new door for me.
In addition to various herbs,
there are also attractions such as the Wanglaoji Herbal Tea Museum, and the architectural style of the buildings in the courtyard is also quaint and charming.
Taking photos is also very rewarding!
If you take your time to wander and snap pictures, it will take about 1 to 2 hours to finish.
