Tanhua Temple Park is located on Jinma Mountain in Kunming and was first built during the reign of Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty. The park is named after a tree that is said to have come from India. Tanhua Temple was originally the villa of Shi Shiqiao, a high-ranking official of the Ming Dynasty, and was donated by his descendants to build a temple. It was later destroyed by an earthquake and rebuilt. Although Tanhua Temple Park is located in Kunming, it has the elegance of a Jiangnan-style garden, with pavilions, rockeries, and lush flowers and trees. The park is home to many cultural attractions, such as the stele of poems and essays given by Zhu De to Monk Yingkong, Lanmao Garden, Ruiying Pagoda, Yuan Jiagu Memorial Garden, and Qian Nanyuan Memorial Corridor. The first time I came here was in autumn. When I walked in, I found that a chrysanthemum exhibition was being held in various small courtyards of Tanhua Temple.
