#wheretogo When staying at St Giles Hotel in Johor Bahru Malaysia, I had the opportunity to have dinner at Kinsahi Japanese restaurant in adjoining Mid Valley South Key shopping mall and it was great. The restaurant’s interior was cosy and the menu choices offered a good selection of Japanese dishes. They even had a variety of bento sets and prices were reasonable. Everything we ordered was delicious. I will be back! My rating of those restaurants: 3.5 ⭐️ out of 5!

The outlet is brightly decorated with comfortable sofa booth seats. There are lots of choices of food and promotions at the restaurant and prices are quite reasonable with good serving size portions. We also have their Power Juices which were freshly blended when ordered. It's overall a nice early lunch treat which is filling and tasty.

When we were in Johor Bahru, I was glad to have found a kid friendly cafe with amazing service, located on the ground floor of Mid Valley Southkey Mall. This cafe is called Antipodean and they have affordable tea set, which includes a cake and a drink for only RM15. The cafe has a nice modern Aussie cafe feel and you will definitely feel welcome by the warm service of the cafe staffs. There's a great variety of cakes to choose from, such as butter free chocolate cake, raisin loaf, carrot cake, etc. For drinks, you can choose from caffeinated to non caffeinated drinks and I chose their iced mocha, which comes with with a cute bear coffee ice cream. I also had their chocolate cake which was very moist and I enjoyed it with my son. I love that the cake slice was nicely decorated with chocolate drizzled messages, such personalization. My son was also given a cup of complimentary baby-ccino. The cafe really went great lengths in making sure, both mother and son had a great tea break. Do note that Antipodean Cafe also do serve brunch and mains if high tea is not your thing. You will love the excellent service there and trust me, it's a very kid friendly cafe which families will love.

#malaysia I visited Mid Valley Mall during the Hari Raya period months ago and managed to witness the entire mall deck up in decorations! Since malls out of Singapore are generally bigger, I was like going to mid valley to check their themed decorations and for trip moments haha. This time they featured many pop up stores all over the mall, resembling the olden days kampung. There was even craft making for kites. Visitors can also check out the various clothings or check out at a glance what the mall is selling from the various pop up. Remember to check the mall out when you are in Johor Bahru!

Price per Person - RM 75 Rating - 5/5 My kids are into car racing but they are too young to seat/operate in a go cart or race car on their own. Fret not while you are in JB Malaysia as there's now a kids friendly go kart place called KF Kiddy Circuit. The place is located on the 4th floor of Mid valley southkey mall. At just RM75, my kids got to go 3 rounds on the circuit and I guarantee you lots of fun for the kids. It's a pretty cool activity and the circuit tracks and whole area are nicely decorated and clean. The go karts can only go up to an acceptable speed for the kids so they are not too fast till they lose control over the cars. There is a proper seating area for parents as they wait for their kids. After racing, if the kids would like to take a break, there's even a cozy TV corner for them to unwind over some cartoons. KF kiddy circuit is the perfect place for some fun and some adrenaline rush for the kids. I only wish that the tracks are longer and for the place to be bigger.

The Mall, Midvalley Southkey Definitely a must to visit if you were to come to Johor Bahru. The shopping centre located only 10 mins away from the Malaysian Woodlands Custom if you were to drive in by car is this amazing Shopping mall called Midvalley Mall. Grab a grab which cost 10 ringgit from Komtar Shopping mall if you are taking a bus in from Singapore. Otherwise you can take bus T21 from JB Sentral Bus terminal. So many ways to get to this shopping mall. Its a gigantic mall with lots of shopping, restaurants and entertaintment all under one roof. SHOPPING TIME at Padini, Factory Outlet Store and Brands Outlet are amazing and affordable to shop. Restaurants like Mdm Kwan, Sushi Zanmai, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Four fingers, Carl Junior. Bakeries like Lavender, SDS which has a huge variety of breads to choose from. There is an arcade and also a cinema if you would like to watch a movie. Movie tickets are generally cheaper and Cinema has amazing seats and very comfortable. For children, there is an indoor playground called Kiddytopia which is affordable and fun. Remember to bring socks to wear if you are keen to visit the indoor playground. Everything for thr whole family under one roof! The plus point is that the mall is linked to a hotel called St Giles Southkey. The mall is very spacious with lots of walking spaces and seats to sit and rest. This is a nice shopping mall if you are keen to get away from Singapore and to a new experience which is affordable. #shopping

When I had a staycation in St Giles hotel, Johor Bahru Malaysia, I had the chance to check out Chi-Gui Mala Hot Pot Restaurant at the adjourning Mid Valley South Key shopping mall and it was really good. The restaurant offered a varied selection of soup bases, and self-service sauce counter where I could make my own sauces. They also provided free desserts - fruit platter and vanilla as well as matcha ice-cream. My rating of this restaurant: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!

They have weekdays Mon-Thurs before 4pm Lunch set which includes selected 1main served up with iced Korean tea and ice cream after the meal at value price of RM18 onwards. Taste wise average if one is not a picker eater. We had their Korean kimchi fried rice, stirred fried spicy pork rice as well as cold noodles. They also have ala carte BBQ meat menu unsure whether nice or as did not see anyone ordering and did not see any Korean staff/chef. Overall might just be a one off visit as Medicroe service and foodfare experienced except for its low value price point.

We often pass by Tokyo Secret when we are at Mid Valley Mall but this is the time first time we are trying it and also the last time. The outlet is often quiet. Probably due to the price. But there are many confectionary such as bake cheese tart and cafe drinks. The cafe is also a nice place to chill at and you can even gaze outside the mall, which is quite rare in Mid Valley. However we felt that the food was okay only. Now you know where to go if you are looking for a quiet environment to rest.

We decided to have lunch at "The Original Boat Noodle Store" in Mid Valley. Being early, we were among the first customers for the day. Unfortunately, the creamy Tom Yum soup was out of stock during our visit. However, we later found out that the store had closed down weeks after our visit. Despite this, we enjoyed the other dishes we ordered and found the concept of boat noodles quite interesting. By having a single serving in one bowl, we were able to try different flavours in one sitting, inspired a floating market in Ayutthaya, Thailand. It's important to note that most of the noodles used are instant noodles. On top of that, we ordered some Thai milk tea and coffee to complement our meal. We hope to come back soon.

Getha lux suite ticket comes with a side and drink. we chose buffalo wings and gyoza. quite disappointed with the service as we ordered extra drinks(tea) and cake, end up they served the cake first before our food, then our tea. when question where is the coke and Sarsi we were told to wait. afterwards someone came over and ask us to go counter and ask ourselves if our items did not come. in the dark the food finally came. Gyoza was cold outside and a little warm inside. Buffalo Wings were stone cold.. we were hungry we ate it anyway in the dark, when i try to shine a light the meat seemed pink, not sure if its uncooked or not as its too dark. The beds in the middle were 2 small sliding table which is quite obstructing. the remote adjust up and down for the back only, tried pressing the leg section up and down but doesnt work. was told to hold for more than 10 secs did as told but still only the back part moves. Not as comfy as i would like, service not as good for Lux.

The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey is one of the latest new huge malls, with lots of shopping, dining and entertainment choices all under one roof. The mall is also directly linked to St. Giles Southkey hotel. For those coming by public transport, there is bus T21 from the JB Sentral bus terminal. The mall is very spacious with lots of walking spaces and does not feel cramped. I also like that there's a lot of greenery and seats available around the mall for customers to rest and relax. Overall it's a nice place to shop and spend the day.

As it is already quite late at 2pm, there are not a lot of customers and I was lucky to grab 1 of these seats for my lunch. Ordering was easy using the self-service ordering kiosk and payment can be via card or over at the counter. Food serving is quite reasonable for the price paid.

If I were to vote for the trendiest and most happening mall in Johor Bahru, my vote would go to The Mid valley southkey mall. Why? This mall is one of the largest i have been in JB and it has floor after floor of different retail shops, restaurants, cafes, entertainment and even international brands. Sogo departmental store is located within the mall as well. You can shop till you drop, eat till your bellies are satisfied at Mid valley southkey mall. Carpark is plenty and it's huge as well. Toilets are easily accessible within the mall, with family room/baby room, and they are clean. The mall is also integrated with the hotel called St Giles southkey. So now, one can enjoy a great stay at JB and also conveniently shop at midvalley southkey mall. Go checkout this mall, you will agree it's one of the best malls in JB! #wecreate

Visited Midvalley Southkey mega mall in Johor Bahru Malaysia and decided to try Dragon-i Chinese restaurant for lunch. This restaurant is famous for their lai men. The decorations of the restaurant is typical Chinese style setup. The service staffs are attentive and provide very good service as they explained and recommended what type of food to try. It is a relatively large size restaurant but it can be crowded during weekday lunch time. Recommended the XO carrot cake as it was very good. This is a good restaurant to visit if you are in this area.

Visited Sek Tong Hong Kong cafe at Mid Valley Southey Johor Bahru Malaysia. This is a Hong Kong inspired cafe serving all typical dishes, especially desserts you can find in HK. There are limited seating capacity in this cafe and could be crowded during lunch time and weekends. Was there during weekday late after fir a tea break and the crowd was almost none. Tried their bread toast and HK milk tea but was average taste only. However, the design and layout of this cafe has attracted me to visit.

We went to Midvalley JB for some groceries shopping and we get to feel the excitement of CNY last minute shopping for some people as half of the stores were close. FYI, for those who celebrates CNY are waiting to have dinner with their loved ones during Chinese New Year's eve. This place is so crowded not only with Malaysian but also Singaporean who came with their family and friends. Since most of the stores offer good discounts, it's such a good opportunity to spend some money to buy quality product at a good price. #mytripvlog 华阳 Oriental Kopi Mid Valley Stumbled upon this cafe when we visited Mid Valley Southkey - a long line of queue regardless of the time. Here's what we ordered - 1. Fried chicken mee siam - the chicken was well-marinated with tumeric and spices, and the dry mee siam tasted just right to go with the chicken. 2. Iced Cham aka Yuan Yang - this was one of the best yuan yang I tried so far. The drink was smooth. 3. Bolo Bun with Butter - The crust remained crisper despite us leaving it at the side while eating our mains. They placed an ice to keep the butter cold but turned out to have melted by the time we placed the butter on the bun. 4. Curry chicken with toast - loved this combination - the curry was flavourful. After you alight from the public bus outside the carpark entrance. You will follow the sign board pointing towards The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey. You have to pass through here to get inside. Once you enter the building, SDS bakery will be on your right side and Hazukido Croissant will be on your left side. Just remember these 2 stores and you will not lose your way when you are heading towards the bus stop to go back to JB Sentral.
