Visiting The Bell Tower of Bled@Slovenia
The Bell Tower of Bled, located on Bled Island in Slovenia, is a prominent and historic structure tied to the Church of the Assumption of Mary. The tower is an iconic feature of the picturesque Bled Lake landscape, attracting visitors from around the world.
1. Height and Construction: The bell tower, standing at 52 meters (171 feet), dates back to the 15th century but has undergone several renovations due to damage caused by lightning and earthquakes.
2. Wishing Bell: One of the main attractions is the “wishing bell”, housed in the church. According to legend, ringing the bell and making a wish ensures your wish will come true. The tradition has made the bell famous among tourists and pilgrims.
3. Architecture: The bell tower and the church represent a mix of Gothic and Baroque styles, reflecting various phases of restoration and enhancement over the centuries.
4. Access: Visitors can reach Bled Island and the bell tower via a traditional pletna boat, a flat-bottomed wooden vessel rowed by local boatmen.
5. Legend of the Sunken Bell: There’s also a local legend about a sunken bell in the lake, said to have belonged to a grieving widow. The story adds a layer of mystique to the site.
The bell tower and its surroundings offer stunning views of Lake Bled, the Julian Alps, and the surrounding countryside, making it a must-visit destination in Slovenia.

I share this lonely church with you
For a moment I thought I was in a lonely planet!
On the way out of Lake Bled, I found a Catholic church temporarily.
It was originally sunny down the mountain, but it started to snow heavily all the way up the mountain.
Originally I wanted to see the church surrounded by mountains and green spaces
It just turned into a Lonely Planet series of hiking in heavy snow😂
In fact, is it considered a different kind of luck? Even the big trees look uniquely beautiful
The church itself is not open to the public. The back of the church is the best place to view the mountains.
In addition, the road driving here is actually quite narrow.
There is a small self-service parking lot at the end of the road, with about three or four spaces.
If you have parking, remember to put money in the box!
After parking the car, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the church.
The full names on the map are as follows
Catholic church of Saint Primus and Felician
It’s also very beautiful on a sunny day!

The castles of Slovenia are like stepping into a storybook world
When talking about the castles of Slovenia, it's like stepping into a storybook world. Each house whispers tales of history, inviting you to embrace its enchanting beauty🏡✨ 🥹 Slovenia·Europe
Bled’s Natural Beauty
Bled in Slovenia was one of the prettiest and most tranquil places of my travels, of course the lake with its stunning views all around with so many great view points but also short walk through the countryside takes you to beautiful some hikes through rocky valleys with with picturesque waterfalls. Hiring a row boat is such fun to visit the church on the island and a chance to grab an ice cream. And who can forget the sunsets. #lake#Nature #Waterfall #Sunset
