Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew 🇬🇧
#londontrip
During my summer vacation in London, I spent a day at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, located in Richmond upon Thames. The entrance fee is £17.50 for adults, but it’s well worth every penny! 🌿✨
Kew Gardens is a sprawling paradise for plant lovers and nature enthusiasts. I started my visit at the Palm House, a stunning Victorian glasshouse filled with tropical plants. The humid, lush environment felt like a mini escape to the rainforest. 🌴🌺
Next, I wandered through the Temperate House, the largest Victorian glasshouse in the world, showcasing plants from Africa, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. The sheer variety and beauty of the plants were breathtaking. 🌍🌿
One of my favorite spots was the Treetop Walkway, where I got a bird’s-eye view of the gardens from 18 meters above the ground. The views were incredible, especially on a clear day. 🍃👀
The Japanese Landscape, with its tranquil Chokushi-Mon (Gateway of the Imperial Messenger), was a serene highlight, providing a perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty. 🌸🗾
Don't miss the Princess of Wales Conservatory, which features 10 different climate zones under one roof. The desert plants and the waterlily house were particularly fascinating. 🌵💧
After exploring, I had a lovely picnic by the lake, surrounded by the beauty of nature. The gardens are also home to Kew Palace and the Great Pagoda, both worth a visit if you have time. 🏰🎋
Overall, Kew Gardens is an enchanting place to spend a summer day, offering a mix of relaxation, education, and breathtaking beauty. Highly recommend! #KewGardens #LondonNature #BotanicGardens #SummerInLondon #NatureLovers
Watch Life Bloom at Singapore Botanic Gardens
🌸 Singapore's Botanic Gardens are one of the most stunning sights I have ever seen! You can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the 2.5km of flowers, foliage, and more!
🌼 Bring water!! It's no secret that Singapore can be quite warm, so be sure to stay hydrated on your journey through the gardens! There are restaurants on property, but it's best to be prepared.
🌿 Throughout the garden, there are mini gardens focused on something specific. One of these was the foliage garden, which was a lovely little stroll of beautiful plants that don't grow flowers.
🪻Entry to the main garden is free, but there is a small ticket price if you'd like to see the Orchid Garden. In the main garden, there are shops, art exhibitions, and more!
🌷 The orchid garden was a highlight of my trip! There are so many different types of orchids, most of which I had never seen before. Also a pro-tip, if the heat is getting to you, the orchid garden has a cool house where there is nice cold air flowing to keep you (and the orchids) cool!

Pass by Botanic Gardens When You Can!
Enroute to Dempsey Hill for a dinner with friends, we alighted at Napier MRT and decided to chill at Botanic Gardens first as we were still early for our reservation.
Singapore Botanic Gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located near Orchard Road located at Cluny Road. Realizing I haven’t even been here once in my 7 years of working in Singapore, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check the gardens out. We entered from the Tanglin gate and just walked right through the gardens. The feeling that immediately took over me was that how peaceful it is inside. The smell, sounds, and all the greens surrounding you just somehow relaxes your mind. We sat at the Swan Lake gazebo, talked, took pictures, and went further inside the gardens. I noticed that all these towering trees were illuminated and fenced. There were not many people in there, just the occasional joggers and people walking their dogs, maybe because it’s a weekday. Knowing that we couldn’t see the whole garden as it is nighttime and we have an appointment, we just looked for one structure to cap off this side adventure. We looked for the Bandstand Gazebo as it is one of the more prominent structures that you will find when you searched for Botanic Gardens in the web. The maps and signages scattered around the area helped in searching for it. Upon reaching, since we were there at nighttime, the gazebo was illuminated making it much more glorious looking. After taking photos, we went on our way to Dempsey Hill.
I promised myself to come back at daytime but if you plan to go there at night, be careful of bug bites! Better put on insect repellent when visiting.

IG worthy: Singapore Gallop extension
Lovely place to picnic and for wedding photoshoots at the two stately manors atop rolling hills at Gallop extension.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens’ is big, but this new location just opened up - get there via Learning Forest.
The building is preserved very well - likely what the original land and houses look like at 5 and 7 Gallop Road, more than a century ago.
Architect of the house at 5 Gallop Road follows the English Landscape movement, and the OCBC Arboretum is next to it. They have a permanent gallery exhibition of botany and plant art.#hiddengem #botanicgardens #Singapore
Explore The Singapore Botanic Gardens
Ready to bask into the afternoon sun with me? Let’s come and explore Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Singapore Botanic Gardens (the Gardens). Here are few of my favourite spots on this green sanctuary in the middle of Singapore city.
1. The Bandstand
The octagonal gazebo known as the Bandstand was erected in 1930 and has retained its original form over the years with very notable landscape feature Yellow Rain Trees (Samanea saman) surrounding it. This spot is an iconic landmark of the Gardens.
2. Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim (Previously known as Vanda Miss Joaquim) Garden
Vanda Miss Joaquim is Singapore’s National Flower and Singapore is the only country to have a hybrid as her national flower. On this spot, the stems of Vanda Miss Joaquim tied to flower posts for support. The top sepal and petals are light pink, while the lower sepals are white. The angel-shaped lip in the middle is bright pinkish purple, with an orange centre that has reddish-purple spots.
3. Sun Garden
Who doesn’t love succulents?! It really give you a lot of summer mood for your photoshoot. The desert landscape displays succulents and other plants of arid regions that stand out from the surrounding lush green tropical foliage. Who knows that this unique garden is actually located at corner at Singapore Botanic Garden?!
4. Sundial Garden
Inspired by European style of formal garden, you can find this beautiful symmetrical garden at Singapore Botanic Gardens. As what the garden name is, there is a sundial at the central of garden. The sundial, despite having endured much wear and tear over the years, still retains its original glory and charm, spreading a sense of well-worn tranquility and presence around the beautiful garden.

The only UNESCO world heritage site in 🇸🇬
#singapore
Singapore Botanic Gardens was inscribed as Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 and is currently the only UNESCO world heritage site in Singapore. It's one of my favourite places in Singapore to spend my off day.
The Botanic Gardens is a huge park divided into a few sections, including National Orchid Garden, Ginger Garden, Rain Forest Trail, Gallop Extension, Ethnobotany Garden and Learning Forest. The kids will definitely like the playgrounds at Jacob Ballas Children's Garden and COMO Adventure Grove. My favourite places in Botanic Gardens are the rain forest trail and Keppel Discovery Wetlands. It may take you a few visits to explore all the different parts of Botanic Gardens.
I prefer to visit the Botanic Gardens by public transport as it is more convenient to start and end at different exits. The two main entrances are conveniently located outside Botanic Gardens MRT and Napier MRT. Another entrance is at Woollerton Gate near Farrer Road MRT which leads you to Gallop Extension of the park.

Get lost in Nature…
This is the side of the Botanic Gardens (along Cluny Road) that one can get lost in Nature and do some healthy forest bathing. It is also much quieter, with stretches of unpaved ground and no one else in sight. You’ll see towering trees that have stood the test of time, and trunks that look like works of art. Take a stroll through the dense greenery to awaken all five senses! You’ll want to go back…

There are 10 different teams in this competition and each team is given 4 hours. In this design-based competition, tiny gardens with strikingly different designs emerged. As a result, 10 different magnificent little gardens emerged, and they were all truly incredible.
