#thingstodo
💞Experiencing the northern lights, or aurora borealis, in Alaska is a bucket-list adventure for many travelers. Alaska offers some of the best opportunities to witness this natural phenomenon due to its location within the auroral zone.
### Tour Options - depending on your budget
- **Guided Tours**: Many companies offer guided northern lights tours from Fairbanks and Anchorage, which include transportation, expert guidance, and sometimes photography assistance. Ranging within 1000 USD
- **Aurora Viewing Lodges**: Some lodges and cabins specialize in aurora viewing, providing cozy accommodations with large windows or outdoor hot tubs for comfortable viewing.
- **Dog Sledding and Snowmobiling**: Combine your aurora viewing with an adventurous activity like dog sledding or snowmobiling.
Best Time to Visit
- **Peak Season**: The best time to see the northern lights in Alaska is from late August to April. The darkest months, particularly from December to March, offer the highest chances of clear skies and extended viewing hours.
- **Avoiding the Midnight Sun**: In the summer months, the midnight sun results in almost continuous daylight, making it nearly impossible to see the auroras.
### Best Locations
- **Fairbanks**: Known as one of the best places in the world for viewing the aurora, Fairbanks is located under the "auroral oval," a ring-shaped zone over the far north where auroras are most frequently observed.
- **Denali National Park**: Offers stunning landscapes and a good chance of seeing the lights away from city lights.
- **Anchorage**: While not as ideal as Fairbanks, you can still see the aurora, especially if you venture outside the city.
- **Coldfoot and the Brooks Range**: More remote and offers an authentic wilderness experience with excellent viewing opportunities.
- **Nome and Barrow (Utqiaġvik)**: These locations offer unique cultural experiences along with aurora viewing.
### Tips for Viewing
- **Stay Up Late**: The best time for viewing is usually between 10 PM and 3 AM.
- **Check the Forecast: Use aurora forecast websites or apps to predict the likelihood of aurora activity.
- **Dress Warmly**: Temperatures can drop significantly, so wear layers and insulated clothing.
- **Plan for Flexibility**: Weather conditions can change rapidly, so having a flexible schedule can increase your chances of seeing the aurora.
- **Photography**: If you plan to take photos, bring a tripod and use a camera with manual settings to capture the lights effectively.
### Cultural and Natural Attractions
- **Cultural Experiences**: Learn about Indigenous cultures and history in places like Fairbanks and Anchorage.
- **Wildlife Viewing**: Take advantage of Alaska's wildlife opportunities, such as spotting moose, caribou, and even polar bears in certain areas.

superb food
The food and coffee here is absolutely amazing. We ordered the corn fritters with came with a generous heap of avo smash. The brioche French toast was decadent and just sweet enough. While the fish tacos were also lovely.
Its all very good food with outstanding flavours and generous portions. However, this cafe is very popular and the wait can take a while. Too noisy to sit indoors with the blasting music, we definitely loved our spot right outside the cafe.

nice cafe
I was looking for a place i could work for a few hours. So, decides to come here and found a comfy nook table with a powerpoint, making it an ideal remote workspace for the day. They have QR codes on the tables, so you can order and pay conveniently without human interaction if you wish.
I started with a coffee which arrived promptly and during the day I sampled both coffee blends on offer. After my first coffee, my colleague arrived for a meeting and we ordered some breakfast. I went with the mushrooms on toast with avocado and feta.

nice coffee and food
Lovely environment of the coffee place, then mixture of the brown table and the blicks sofas makes it somewhat cozy. There are three different types of coffee blends.
We were just full from dim sum next door so we could not enjoy this place in full capacity. Yet we love the food here. And the decor! It makes my home feel like a haunted house lol. Definitely want to visit here again

Magammanage Don Nipuna Udara Dilshan Gunarathna delcious food
The food here is really good. We have tried so many different dishes of theirs during breakfast and lunch. It is simply amazing for the price. The home made scones, muffins and cabinet food are absolutely insane and they don’t microwave anything, so it’s just sooo fresh tasty.
Everything on their menu is a flavour bomb and not just an average eggs or muesli, it’s so much more. Service!! What a vibe! The nicest and coolest people.

nice cafe
Cozy and chill environment, they have a variety of western food, desserts and drinks. You can Whatsapp them to reserve a table as they can be quite packed during peak hours.
The ice cream flavour changes from time to time. The current flavour is chocolate but it tasted like dark chocolate. The texture is smooth and it’s not too sweet. One of the best chocolate soft serve ice creams I’ve had.

lovely spot
Cool vibe, only downside is you have to wait quite a long time (due to the pour method), but people are willing to wait because the drinks are so good. Very friendly staff too. Vegan options available as well. Such a neat little place, drinks were great.
A bit busy inside with little room, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Matcha was fantastic. Overall, a fantastic place to eat and the prices too are very decent in comparison.

🇬🇧Budget-Friendly Hotel in London, UK
#magicalxmastrip
💞Reasons to Recommend: Dolphin Inn Hotel's staff are very kind and accommodating. They let us check in to our room early. We booked 3 bunk beds with a private bathroom. The room is bigger than expected, and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast buffet is also worth the price. Plus, this hotel is walking distance to plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants, hop on and off buses, and the Paddington train station. Just a heads up, they do not have an elevator.

💞Reasons to Recommend: Queensland Cruising Yacht Club has the stunning waterfront view of the Cabbage Tree and Nundah Creek Rivers alongside beautiful yachts and greenery. They also have outdoor and indoor dining areas with plenty of space. Surprisingly, it was not busy on a Saturday morning. But still, we suggest booking a table in advance to secure a good spot. The big breakfast is appetizing and affordable. I also love their hot chocolate. Although we had to wait for a long time for the food to arrive, we enjoyed our meals and the overall atmosphere of the place is amazing!

great coffee
One of the signature beans of this coffee shop is their Liberica beans, that was planted, harvested, processed and roasted locally. The owner has did a tremendous research to get the optimal roasting method for the Liberica beans to get the best roasted beans.
Liberica beans is limited in the west Malaysia market. So, this place does some very good speciality coffee. If found the prices to be decent and justified. Its at part with other such establishments. Moreover, the quality of their coffee is just fantastic. Nice food options too.

beautiful cafe
Beautiful place, complete with see through workshop/brewing/roasting room, an incredible selection of inhouse roast coffee. Got myself their basic espresso beans and costa rica, and I've been craving for their beans ever since.
The price you pay for their quality if incomparible, would definitely come back when I'm around and still finding a way to get my hands on their beans. For coffee lovers, it is compulsory to come here.

nice local cafe
This is a lovely cafe with great coffee, where one can also get some small stuff to eat. I got an info card with my pour over, which was nice. Overall a sweet place with great coffee and helpful baristas. The small, but intimate, interior is perfect low conversations, or for the extroverts, engaging the other patrons in lively chats. Try the cakes and slices, perfect with your cuppa. Parking is on-street, and there’s a short walk up the drive.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a culture lover, or an adventure seeker, Cambodia invites you to discover its multifaceted beauty.

The warmth and hospitality of its people leave a lasting impression, and its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty make it a destination worth exploring.
