🇸🇬 NOU - A funky date spot in Singapore
#singaporetrip
Located on Craig Road, NOU is a unique bar that serves Asian-inspired noodle along with cocktails in a nicely decorated space. We had their signature Umami noodle and it was bursting with flavours. The olive scallion sauce was one of its kind and coated the noodles really well. Dessert was great too. Baklava which made up of black sesame caramel and clove honey hit the spot!

🇸🇬 Noodle Star K for authentic Korean cold noodles 🍜
#singaporetrip
Noodle Star K is one of the more crowded restaurants in Funan. The menu is simple as they are very focused with what they serve - Cold noodles, ja jjang myeon and mandu (Korean dumplings 🥟). The texture of the noodles was extremely springy and it went really well with the refreshing broth. Ja jjang myeon was equally good with the sweet and dense sauce. We had a very satisfying meal here !

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff especially the lady boss were incredibly kind and attentive. Each dish was bursting with flavour and the portion was so generous. The Spicy Stir-Fried Octopus is a must-try for seafood and spice lovers !

🇸🇬Take a historical walk in the National Museum Singapore
#singaporetrip
As a museum lover, National Museum Singapore is my favorite spot to go during free time. I especially like the Singapore History Gallery where I get to walk through Singapore’s past through various artifacts and interactive exhibits. The layout is very easy to navigate and the sections are segregated well to allow visitors to have a better understanding of the timeline.

🇸🇬 Fort Canning Heritage Gallery
#singaporetrip
Do check out Fort Canning Heritage Gallery if you are visiting Fort Canning Park! You would be surprised by taking this journey of delving deeper into the history of Fort Canning, its past uses, and the changes that have occurred over time. There are many fascinating collection of various artifacts recovered from the site. I personally thought the most impressive one is a well-preserved pillar displayed in a timeless glass case.

Sue Olivier recently held a solo exhibition at Visual Art Centre in Singapore, showcasing her unique and vibrant artworks. The exhibition included a variety of pieces like paintings, sculptures, and mixed media installations, all characterized by bold colors and dynamic designs. Her work often explores themes like identity and transformation, making a strong emotional connection with the audience. One notable piece, "Metamorphosis," was a large sculpture symbolizing change and growth. This piece was particularly popular and sparked many conversations among visitors.

Greenhouse Restaurant with a Golf Course View
#singaporetrip
Greenhouse is the in-house restaurant of Dusit Thani Laguna. The included breakfast of the stay is held here. The breakfast is of buffet style and comprises of western and asian cuisine. The choices weren't that much and I can say it's just the typical breakfast selection.
Other food options when staying at the hotel is the room service. We ordered pizza, pasta, and some cocktails for dinner. I remember liking all the food we ordered. We also ordered the mango sticky rice, it was okay. I didn't like it that much maybe because of the floral aroma of the rice and small mango serving.
Nuts and chocolates were also delivered to the room but it wasn't clear if it's complimentary to the room or was it a birthday treat, as the staff did not explain anything. Honestly, the staff was the miss for our whole stay as I remember we also had a bit of trouble talking to the staff on the phone. The staff who were the most welcoming were the ladies at Greenhouse during breakfast time.
Plane-Watching by the Pool?
#singaporetrip
Dusit Thani Laguna is located at Laguna National Golf Resort. It's a perfect hotel for when you want to spend days playing golf. As it is located at Laguna Golf Green, there's nothing much to do at this area. To get to the nearest mall, you'll have to drive or take the shuttle service provided by the hotel.
Golf isn't the only attraction of the hotel. The swimming pool is also very nice. It's huge and definitely family-friendly. You can also watch planes above passing by while lounging at the pool.
The lobby is spacious and exuded elegance. The weather wasn't really nice when we checked in last July so the interior felt a bit empty that time. The check-in staff that time was also very curt and felt a bit unwelcoming to be honest. My sister and I aren't really nitpicky with service so that says a lot if that's how we felt. No mention of wifi password, breakfast times, etc. We tried to just not be bothered by it though during our stay.
A Tropical Staycation to Remember
#singaporetrip
Ever since Dusit Thani Laguna opened in Singapore, me and my sister have been wanting to stay there for a night. The unique structure with glass panels and organic shape made me more eager to try it out. Come July, we decided to spend my sister's birthday at the hotel and booked a Prestige Verandah Pool View Suite for a night. We loved the room as it came with a bathtub, a requirement whenever we do staycations. The room is located on a corner, with 2 sides decked in glass from ceiling to floor with a pool view, and the other side with a verandah and an outdoor bathtub & shower feature covered with plants. The room is pretty nice. It has two sinks, separate shower and toilet enclosure, has an outdoor table and chairs at the verandah, seating area inside the room, and a study table and chair. The bed is super comfortable. Overall the room was nice and we enjoyed the room, I just wished that the service and staff at that time were at par with how good the hotel is, because in the end, the room is expensive and it would let us expect a nicer service.

SPECTRUM Art Exhibition at the Visual Arts Centre
#singaporetrip
When I entered the SPECTRUM Art Exhibition at the Visual Arts Centre, I was immediately struck by the variety and vibrancy of the artworks. The exhibition featured the works of four talented female artists: Diane Chai, Lim Ee Chuin, Jillian Lim, and Loh Choi Ying.
Diane Chai's paintings were full of bold colors and abstract shapes that felt like a journey into her imagination. Lim Ee Chuin's detailed printmaking pieces had a calm, meditative quality that drew me in. Jillian Lim's art was playful and vibrant, adding a sense of joy to the exhibition with her whimsical scenes. Finally, Loh Choi Ying's work balanced realism and abstraction, capturing deep emotions through her use of color and texture.
The whole experience was enhanced by the thoughtful way the artworks were displayed, allowing them to speak to each other and to us, the viewers. I left feeling inspired and enriched, grateful for the chance to see such diverse and beautiful art.

Immersed in Magic: The Studio Ghibli Exhibition
#singaporetrip
Visiting “The World of Studio Ghibli” exhibition at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore was an enchanting experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were transported into the magical worlds of Studio Ghibli. The exhibition, spread over two floors, was beautifully curated with film sets from iconic movies like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away.
One of the highlights was taking pictures with Totoro and experiencing the iconic train ride with No-Face. The attention to detail in recreating these scenes was truly impressive. The exhibition also offered a wide range of official Studio Ghibli merchandise, perfect for fans wanting to take a piece of the magic home.
Given how difficult it is to book tickets for the Studio Ghibli museums in Osaka and Tokyo, this exhibition is a must-visit for any Ghibli fan. It’s a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the enchanting worlds created by Hayao Miyazaki and his team.

#singaporetrip
The Christmas Train Show at Gardens by the Bay was a delightful experience! The Flower Dome was transformed into a festive wonderland, with model trains chugging past beautifully crafted miniature versions of iconic American landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Grand Central Station.
The attention to detail in the floral displays and the intricate train setups was truly impressive. It felt like stepping into a magical world where the charm of a century-old American Christmas tradition came to life in Singapore. The vibrant colors, festive decorations, and the joyful atmosphere made it a perfect outing for families and train enthusiasts alike.

Bana Bana Cafe
#singaporetrip
At Bana Bana Cafe, you will find Western and local food too! The two story cafe is a perfect choice for gathering as the place is spacious. The second floor even has a TV. While waiting for our food, we entertained ourselves with shows on the TV.
As it was my first time there, I ordered their Sabshuka with meat. It comes with a Garlic Bread. I wish they gave more garlic bread since the Sabshuka serving is a lot. I also brought home pastries!
Overall, a nice place to chill!

PappaRich at Changi Airport Terminal 4
#singaporetrip
Previously, there were so many outlets of PappaRich in Singapore! I was so sad that they have close most of their outlets. Glad to find that there is one in Terminal 4.
Located at the departure area, PapaRich serves traditional breakfast food to other mains. As it has been a long time since I visited PapaRich, I did not know that they have changed their menu.
I ordered the Kaya Butter Toast, luncheon meat and Nasi Lemak. For their Kaya Butter Toast, I love how their I could taste the cold butter slice!

This is a quirky cafe that you can identify by the robot on a pillar at the entrance and a old school door. This place is a cafe by day and a bar at night!
We came here for afternoon tea. Service was good. 1 of the attendees advertised their Nutella macadamia brownie with pistachio ice-cream. I must say they all tasted amazingly good and very chocolatey.
