Pierre-Baudis Japanese Garden 🇫🇷
#francetrip
I had a serene afternoon at the Pierre-Baudis Japanese Garden in Toulouse! 🌿🗻 This beautifully landscaped garden offers a peaceful escape with its koi ponds, tranquil walkways, and lovely cherry blossoms. The entrance fee was around €3, making it a great value for a relaxing experience. I enjoyed strolling through the garden, taking in the meticulously designed scenery and the calming atmosphere. 🐟🌸 The garden is conveniently located near the Palais des Sports, so you can easily combine your visit with other local attractions. If you’re in Toulouse, this garden is a perfect spot for a quiet retreat. #trip #PierreBaudisJapaneseGarden #Toulouse #GardenEscape #TravelFrance #PeacefulRetreat
Toulouse - 4 Days itinerary
#myitinerary
If you are holidaying or headed to the south part of France. It is very likely you will stop by the pink City. Toulouse is an absolute gem. However, under rated it has something for everyone. While, many times two days are plenty to check out sights of Toulouse. On a recent holiday i stayed in Toulouse for 4 nights and it was the most balanced number of days. When i recommend 4 nights, it includes 2 seperate day trips to Carcassonne and Albi. Here is what the trip looked like :-
Day 1 - This was a day with perfect autumn weather. And i always like to orient myself with a city on foot. The day included some of the most famous sights of Toulouse. Starting with Place du Capitol, the stunning, Basilica of Saint-Sernin, the shops and walking around Ru du taur and the Japanese garden. Each day the evening was more about leisure and dedicated to food experiences which may differ for everyone.
Day 2 - This would be a lovely day to get started with one of my most favourite things about Toulouse. The canal du midi, a canal that stretches almost 200kms plus and offers scenic boat rides. i recommend getting an hour or two long boat tour. This will give you an idea of what sort of sights let along the canal. In your remaining days in toulouse. You can use the evening leisure hours to come back to your favourite spots. On foot or bicycle but rest assured you will have several spots. After the boat tour you can head to one of the places for a stroll.
Day 3 - This should be a day trip to Carcassonne. This is an absolutely gorgeous city with so much to do. It depends on if you take one of those day tours on the bus or get a train in the morning. You are looking forward to a spectacular day. Right from the medieval city to Chateau comtal and ramparts, sait nazzaire basilique, the school.musuem, the old bridge and so much more.
Day 4 - Once again you want an early start. A day tour from Toulouse on a bus would simplify things greatly otherwise a cheap train ride will take an hour each way. But worth it because Albi is a beautiful medieval gem too with the cathedral and the lovely little museum. A personal favourite of mine in Albi is the riverside path. The evening will be for leisure when you return to Toulouse. #toulouse #france #vacation #travel #summer #monuments #cafe #restaurant
Surprisingly Good!
Having extensively and frequently visited France in my university years made me feel that I am done with what's there to see in France. Somehow Toulouse or other similar university towns didn't feature on my interests. It was only years later and on a family holiday we ventured into this part of France. With little or no expectations we relied on good accomodations, food and few activities to help fuel this family off time.
But Toulouse turned out to be a surprisingly good holiday destination. It has so much to offer. While being a very friendly and lovely city. During our 4 comfortable nights in Toulouse. Not only did we explore what's in the city, like Sain sernin's basilica, the capitol palace, bellow tower, the pedestrian street and my new favourite activity in France, the canal du midi. But Toulouse also offered us excellent day trips to nearby places Albi and carcassone. It's a fantastic city for walking around too. So if you haven't tried Toulouse yet. Make sure you include it on your next French holidays.

A unique cathedral
While tolouse has several churches and cathedral. Saint Sernin's basilique was the most unique of them all. The architecture is eye catching and in my case I hadn't seen something similar before. When we visited there was a mass going on with a boys choir in attendance too. The atmosphere was very beautiful.
Not only the chapel is well maintained on the outside. It has very beautiful interiors. The stained glass that never fails to draw attention is stunning. It is places like this basilica that make for such a rich cultural and heritage expericne when you holiday in Tulouse. This comes recommended.
