I got the chance to visit Mayfield lavender farm twice, once on a cloudy day and once on a sunny day. And I must say, either weather, the farm is still stunning. Mayfield Lavender Farm is a beautiful destination located in the Surrey countryside, just outside of London. It’s famous for its vast fields of fragrant lavender, creating a stunning sea of purple during the summer months. So of course, the best months to visit here is from late June to early August, with July usually being the peak season. Mayfield Lavender farm is around 15-mile drive from Central London, and easily access by train to Banstead or Burley stations, then taking taxi/local bus to go there. Make sure to arrive early, or very late to avoid the crows, especially during peak bloom season. #uktrip

Bibury, often described as one of the most beautiful villages in England, is a picture-perfect destination nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds. While the best way to reach Bibury is by private car, it is also accessible by public transport. Here’s how we got there: We took an early bus from London to Oxford and spent a few hours exploring the University of Oxford. From Oxford, we caught a bus to Cirencester, which took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once in Cirencester, we transferred to a local bus bound for Bibury, with a journey time of approximately 15-20 minutes. Bibury is small and walkable, making it easy to explore on foot. We spent just half a day touring around the village before catching a train to Bath. #uktrip

Although there are many facts, theories, and debates, the exact reason Stonehenge was built isn't confirmed. Its connection to the summer and winter solstice sunrise and sunset, along with its alignment with the stars and other phenomenal findings, indicate it is a place of potent energy and was very important to the people of that age. Stonehenge was number 1. on my list of things to see or should I say "feel" when visiting the UK. 🏠Where to stay: You can spend a night or 2 in Salisbury, there are some lovely inns like "The Kings Head Inn", which also has delicious, decently priced food. 📍How to get there: 1. The "ST bus" to Stonehenge from Salisbury, but remember this bus is around £20 pounds as it is a tourist bus. 2. The "X2 bus", as it's only £2 but the buses don't come frequently. *Use Google Maps to find these buses while in Salisbury, just type in Stonehenge and choose the public transport option. Both buses can be found on the same road. 3. Take a 7777s cab. It was £24 and took us about 30 minutes to get there. Their number is 01722 777777. 🍴Where to eat: They have a café at the visitors center where you enter/exit. 🎫 Ticket Prices: Adults: £25 upwards Children: £15 upwards *Depending on which day you go. This gorgeous restaurant with stunning views of the Iconic Thames and Big Ben serves delicious Lebanese food. Located inside the Hyatt Albert Embankment, the lift to the to the restaurant provides amazing views. The interior is beautiful and we went just before sunset so the views really made the restaurant stood out for us. The Mocktails were presented well and was fresh, sweet and acidic. We really enjoyed Hummus Shawarma, the hummus was soft and creamy complementing the tender shawarma nicely. The wings were more like lollipop style and had a nice flavour to it. We got the Mixed Grill, which was very generous in portion, the meats were tender, juicy and tasty. The Lamb Chops were very good, with the fat on it, it was dripping with juice, very soft and went down well. We got the Chocolate Fondant and Baklava, which was presented nicely and was good way to finish off soaking in the night views. Welcome to my new challenge! 🍷 When I started this page I have always posted a mix of market foods, cheap eats and more expensive/ special occasion places. But to be very honest with you, fine dining is my vice🥹. I used to work in hospitality for 10 years before completing my degree and moving to the corporate world (eventually leaving that too lol). I’ve worked in Gaucho, Barbecoa (when it was around) and a few more. I truly believe that when you have worked in hospitality you appreciate it that little bit more because you have a high respect for everything that’s going on from the front of house to the kitchen. The stories I could tell you.. good and bad 🫣. When I say that THE BEAR season 1 episode 7 was the most accurate depiction of the stress of a kitchen I have ever seen… literal PTSD 🤣. Anyway I genuinely have a real love of food. Not just the eating part - but the craftsmanship. When you pay £200 for a 7 course tasting menu.. you’re not just paying for the food. You are paying for the Chefs years of expertise along with the hours and hours of developing and taste perfecting the menu. You are actually consuming ART! Meat Street 📍183 High Rd, Ilford IG1 1DG @meatstreetltd London lacks good steak places. This spot is different. From the chips to the steak it’s bringing it all the flavours in 😋 Breakdown—- Steak and Chips (peppercorn)- banging. Asked for medium rare I got it medium rare. The chimchuri highlighted exotic flavours and with the peppercorn sauce oh my god Banging🔥🔥🔥 Steak sando- brioche bread does provide a good bed to the steak. It does need to be cut up more. I reckon onions or some condiments would make it better. Protein on that meal must be 60g or somthing 🔥 I love the chips. Seasoning everything. It’s crunchy woof🙂↕️ Overall a go to spot. Glad it’s local.
