A Day Trip to Mount Takao in Tokyo
In autumn, you can spend a day in Tokyo exploring Mount Takao and enjoying the fall foliage. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji.
The trip from the city center takes about an hour, making it a convenient and friendly itinerary. The nearest station to Mount Takao is Keio Line's Takaosanguchi Station. Simply enter 'Takaosanguchi Station' into Google Maps to get the transportation route from your starting point, which is very convenient.
Upon arriving at Takaosanguchi Station, there are convenience stores where you can buy some snacks and water for the hike. If you prefer not to walk, you can take a short walk to the cable car station 'Kiyotaki Station' and ride the cable car to 'Takaosan Station' halfway up the mountain. From there, you will need to hike to reach the summit.
Along the way, you'll pass by temples, giant cedar trees, and more. There's a popular stall selling soy sauce-glazed rice dumplings, a favorite rest stop for hikers. The soy sauce-glazed sesame dumplings are delicious, and customers can also enjoy free hot tea provided by the stall.
After reaching the summit, depending on the weather, you might be able to see Mount Fuji. In mid to late December, there are a few days when you can witness the 'Diamond Fuji' phenomenon at sunset, where the sun sets directly on top of Mount Fuji, creating a dazzling sight like a diamond. During these days, the cable car extends its operating hours.
After descending the mountain and returning to the station, you can choose to relax at the nearby Keio Takaosan Onsen Gokurakuyu, soak in the hot springs, and enjoy a meal to relieve your fatigue, making for a perfect day.
Unveiling the Mysteries of the Emirate: Dubai Desert
Dubai is a city that Hong Kong residents are likely familiar with. As a transit hub for Emirates Airlines, many Hong Kong travelers pass through this city en route to Europe. But how many have actually stayed and explored this city? This Easter, my friends and I decided to spend three days and two nights in Dubai, attempting to uncover the mysteries of this Middle Eastern emirate.
When in the Middle East, experiencing desert life is a must! Almost every hotel offers various local tours, which can also be booked through travel apps. These tours come in many forms, including half-day, full-day, and even two-day excursions. Activities typically include camel riding, desert 4x4 driving, dune bashing, sandboarding, and desert dinners. Due to time constraints, we opted for a half-day tour, with hotel pick-up and drop-off, heading to the Lahbab Desert near the Oman border. The desert is always sunny, and driving a 4x4 across the vast expanse gives you a sense of having the world at your feet. By dusk, you can enjoy the serene beauty of the setting sun, making it one of the most unforgettable sunsets of your life. Spending Easter in the Middle Eastern desert is truly a dreamlike experience.
Jinan's 'First Spring Under Heaven' outdoor garden scenery is suitable for visiting in any season.
The Jinan First Spring Scenic Area consists of five scenic spots: Baotu Spring, Daming Lake, Wulongtan, Huancheng Park, and Heihu Spring. The area is a garden-style park with Baotu Spring as the main attraction. The spring water gushes out from underground limestone caves, with a daily flow of 70,000 cubic meters. The spring has three outlets, and it is said that the water temperature remains constant at 18 degrees Celsius throughout the year, which is quite remarkable. The scenic area is vast and picturesque, with weeping willows on both banks forming a garden green center characterized by the spring water in the heart of the lake. This makes the scenery of the 'Spring City' even more beautiful, with 'lotus flowers on four sides, willows on three sides, half city mountain view, and half city lake.' The Jiangnan-style corridors, koi fish, and clear lake water are all captivating, leaving visitors wanting more.
The Colorful Beach Yardang Landform: Spectacular Scenery, Infinite Beauty
The Colorful Beach Yardang Landform is something I've heard about for a long time, but experiencing it in person is truly astonishing! I knew about wind-eroded landforms, but I never imagined they could be this magnificent. The sunlight bathes the vast land, as if gilding every inch with a golden edge. On both sides of the river, there are stones of various shapes and colors—some are deep red, some golden yellow, and others are a dazzling array of colors. They sparkle charmingly under the sunlight, like nature's treasure trove. In the distance, a surreal mist rises from the dark green forest, and with the Irtysh River as the backdrop, it creates a sense of infinite time and space interweaving, evoking a profound respect for nature in the observer.
Hemu Village: A Mysterious and Beautiful Paradise for Photographers
Hemu Village is nestled in the Altai Mountains, bordering Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia. It is a place full of mystery and beauty. The village is surrounded by dense forests, with larch trees and clear rivers complementing each other. In the distance, the continuous snow-capped mountains remain covered with snow all year round. The lush forests and fresh air invite deep breaths, and the crystal-clear rivers create a stunning picture. During dawn or dusk, sunlight filters through the treetops and bathes the village in a dreamy, enchanting light, making it a paradise for photography enthusiasts.
[Changpo Reservoir] - Picturesque scenery, absolutely stunning!
#adventuretraveler
I personally experienced the beautiful scenery at Changpo Reservoir, which I will never forget.
The reservoir is surrounded by mountains, and the clear water is like a mirror, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds and green mountains, forming a moving landscape painting. I walked along the trail around the lake, and every turn was a new surprise.
What fascinates me the most is the sunrise over the reservoir. In the early morning, I stood on the observation deck and watched the sun rise slowly from the distant mountains. The golden sunlight shone on the water, seeming to light up the entire lake. The scenery was breathtakingly magnificent.
Liuxi River Forest Park: A Summer Retreat to Enjoy Green Hiking
Cooling off in the summer is an eternal theme. Those who long for distant places would say, 'Travel across mountains and rivers to dispel the summer heat.' Perhaps, you don't need to traverse all the magnificent landscapes to cool off; just come to Liuxi River Forest Park. In the summer, Liuxi River Forest Park is like a 'natural oxygen bar.' Once you enter the park, the temperature naturally drops significantly!
In Liuxi River Forest Park, patches of dawn redwood trees are shrouded in mist. Walking through them, a misty spray hits your face, making you feel like you're in a fairyland. Right now is the most beautiful season in the park. The trees are lush, the breeze is gentle, and the summer scenery is in full display. A hike through the forest allows you to take in all the green sights. As you venture deeper into the park, the trees on both sides become denser, their tops forming a natural 'sunshade.' Take a deep breath, and the negative ions carrying the fragrance of grass and trees go straight to your lungs.
Nanao Island: Azure Waters, Unforgettable Experience
Nanao Island, located in the southern part of Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is a picturesque place where the sea, mountains, forests, and rocks blend seamlessly together. Upon setting foot on Nanao Island, the first thing that catches your eye is the expanse of azure waters. The sea is crystal clear, and under the sunlight, it sparkles with a shimmering glow. The gentle waves lap against the shore, as if telling the stories of the island. As the sun sets, the beauty of Nanao Island reaches its peak. Fishing boats return, and the fishermen come back with their boats full, their laughter echoing across the sea. At this moment, the sea and sky merge into one, creating an incredibly beautiful scene.

[Treasure by the Lake] Wilcox Lake~A great place to relax and get close to nature
#adventuretraveler
As a photography enthusiast who loves nature, I was fortunate enough to experience Wilcox Lake, a hidden treasure, which left an unforgettable impression on me.
Standing by the lake, watching the mist slowly dissipate, the lake is like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding green mountains and blue sky, which is breathtakingly beautiful.
Strolling along the trails around the lake, you will enjoy the different scenery in each season. In spring, wild flowers decorate the lakeside; in summer, lush trees cover the lake with green; in autumn, red maples reflect in the lake, like an oil painting; in winter, the frozen lake surface is like a fairy tale world.
What I like best is sitting on a bench by the lake at dusk, watching the sunset dye the lake red, listening to the chirping of birds returning to their nests, and feeling the tranquility and harmony of nature.
Wilcox Lake is a great place to relax and get close to nature, and it keeps me coming back every time I visit.

Detian Transnational Waterfall: A Summer Retreat
Detian Waterfall is located at the border between Daxin County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, and Cao Bang Province, Vietnam. It is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the fourth largest in the world. The best time to visit is from June to September when the water flow is abundant and majestic. During the rainy season, it transforms into a golden waterfall, offering a spectacular view of nature's craftsmanship. The waterfall also features a night light show, which is worth seeing.
For accommodation, it is recommended to stay at hotels or guesthouses near Detian Waterfall for convenient access. Longji Rice Terraces Weekend Trip
Longji Rice Terraces are perfect for a weekend getaway. Some people love the green terraces, some prefer the yellow ones, but I personally enjoy the water-filled terraces. We specifically chose a guesthouse with a terrace view of the rice fields, so we could admire the terraces from our balcony. At night, we could hear the croaking of frogs and chirping of crickets, which was quite interesting. The next day, the guesthouse owner drove us to the cable car station, and we took the cable car to a viewing platform to appreciate the terraces from a different angle. There are several viewing platforms at Longji Rice Terraces, but only one is accessible by cable car; the others require hiking, which we skipped due to the heat.
Longji Rice Terraces are vast, divided into three main areas. One area is popular with tour groups and sometimes features evening performances and light shows, making it quite lively. It's said to have some nice hotels. The second area is mainly for independent travelers, less crowded, with mostly guesthouses ranging from budget to luxury, though those with better views tend to be more expensive. The third area is still under development. Our guesthouse provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast included the famous rice noodles. For lunch and dinner, you could order dishes. Most guesthouses know how to cook bamboo chicken, chicken soup, and tomato fish. However, be cautious with freshwater fish as they have many bones. Guesthouses usually offer sweet homemade rice wine.
The terraces are filled with water in May and June, but it's best to call the guesthouse before your trip to confirm the exact timing, as it depends on the weather.
🗓️ Itinerary: Take the high-speed train to Guilin West Station, then a taxi to the Longji Rice Terraces parking lot, which takes about an hour and a half. Arrange with the guesthouse in advance to pick you up at the parking lot; otherwise, finding the guesthouse on the mountain roads with your luggage can be troublesome. For the return trip, have the guesthouse take you to the parking lot, then either pre-arrange with the taxi driver to take you back to Guilin West Station or find a taxi at the parking lot to take you there.
Check-in at the Muli Scenic Road in Xinjiang
Xinjiang's scenery is often associated with Ili, but this place offers everything Ili has: grasslands, snow-capped mountains, spruce trees, and flower seas. The Scenic Road is located on the southwest side of Muli County in Xinjiang. It is essentially a section of the rural road from the entrance of Maquanwan in Muli County to Jiangbulake Scenic Area in Qitai County. Although it's a narrow village road, it is paved and has little traffic. The road passes through hilly farmlands and flower fields, making it perfect for self-driving tours and photography.
The road undulates and winds through dry fields, leading to vast grasslands and flower seas. There are several rest stops along the way where you can replenish food and drinks. At the highest point of the scenic area, there is a 300-meter-long musical road and a glass walkway for tourists to enjoy the view. You can also rent horses from local herders for a ride. The forest at the mountain top is ideal for picnics and relaxation.
The scenery here is truly remarkable and worth a visit for photos.

Stepping barefoot onto it, the delicate warmth instantly enveloped my feet, seemingly dispelling all the fatigue of the journey.
