Pinnacle in Perth – A Natural Wonder Worth Exploring
On a recent trip to the Pinnacle Desert in Nambung National Park, located about a two-hour drive north of Perth, the Pinnacles are a truly unique and surreal landscape that left me in awe.
**Getting There**
The drive from Perth to the Pinnacles was scenic and enjoyable, with plenty of opportunities to stop along the way for photos or a quick bite. I recommend leaving early in the morning to beat the crowds and fully appreciate the serene beauty of the desert.
**The Pinnacles Desert**
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the vast expanse of limestone pillars rising out of the golden sand. The Pinnacles are naturally formed structures, some reaching up to 3.5 meters high, and they create a mesmerizing and almost otherworldly atmosphere. Walking among them felt like stepping into another planet. The contrast between the bright blue sky and the warm hues of the desert is truly breathtaking.
**Exploration and Photography**
Whether you choose to explore by foot or by car, the Pinnacles offer endless opportunities for photography. I opted to walk the trails, which allowed me to get up close to the formations and really appreciate their unique shapes and textures. The best time for photos is either early morning or late afternoon when the light is soft, and the shadows create dramatic effects.
