Beautiful Wenhai Lake in Lijiang Yunnan
#chinatrip
Wenhai Lake, situated on the southern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan, is a seasonal alpine lake and wetland at an elevation of approximately 3,100 meters
I went to Wenhai Lake in summer, the atmosphere is a vibrant, lush grazing land surrounded by meandering streams and blooming wildflowers. Nestled on the southern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the lake basin becomes a breathtaking expanse of greenery, attracting herds of livestock and showcasing many of species of rhododendrons in full bloom.

Experience 4 seasons in 1 day ⛰️九寨沟 🏞️
Finally put my foot down and decided to try solo travelling while visiting one of the world’s most beautiful UNESCO site. While planning, I realised there was not much itineraries around in English. So here’s my itinerary:
Day 1
1040H: 🛬Landed in Chengdu Tianfu Airport
1303-1330H: 🚝Took the train from Tianfu Airport to Chengdu East Station (approx 30mins)
1444-1654H: 🚝Bullet Train from Chengdu East Station to HuanglongJiuzhai station (approx 2h)
1700H: 🚕Took a 10mins cab to a hotel located near Chengdu East station
1800H: 🥘Dropped baggage at hotel before having dinner at a nearby restaurant 10mins car ride away
Day 2
0900H: 🚕 Took a 10mins cab back to HuanglongJiuzhaigou station to catch the 2hour shuttle to JiuZhai attraction entrance
1130H: 📍Arrived at JiuZhaiGou attraction entrance (10mins walk), checked in at hotel to drop off lugguage before catching a quick lunch and heading towards the attraction.
1230H: ⛰️ Follow the signs and head towards the attraction where you will scan your ticket and board a bus which will bring you to the attraction route while giving a tour in Chinese. (Note: Sit on the left side of the bus to get a better views of the scenery while on the bus. Last entry to attraction is at 1400H)
1830H: 🏞️ JiuZhaiGou closes at 1830H, so do ensure that you catch the last bus to leave the place.
1900H: Dinner and head back to accommodation
Day 3
0609H: 🚏Head towards the bus gathering point and catch the earliest bus back to Huanglongjiuzhai station (approx 2h ride)
0904-1045H: 🚝 Bullet train back to Chengdu East station (approx 2h)
This was the itinerary I came up with as a solo traveller. An alternative to the itinerary would be to travel to the attraction area on day 1 such that you will be able to spend a full day at JiuZhaiGou or head back directly to Chengdu with the latest bullet train. Do book your train tickets two week in advance to secure a seat. Note that it’s currently non-peak period for jiuzhaigou so tickets are half price :) what are you waiting for? Hurry book your tickets and marvel at the beautiful scenery.

No trip to Nara is complete without visiting the Nara Park!
#japantrip #nara #narapark #japan #travel #thingstodo #myitinerary
Nara Park and the deer are probably the only reason for many to visit Nara. It takes approximately 1 hour from Osaka to Nara by car and many would do it for a day trip (we stayed in Nara for a night). The Nara Park is huge and would require a bit of walking so be prepared to dress up accordingly. As soon as you arrive at the Park, you will find the wild deer roaming around (with some begging for treats). Aside from that, you will probably smell an unpleasant animal manure stench. To complete your experience in Nara Park, grab a stack of Grain Crackers to feed the deer for 200Yen, but mind you- some deer will attack you so play smart. For us- we looked for the younger and clumsy ones and we were not attacked. We did witness some tourists being attacked (not seriously).
Walk to one end of the Nara Park and you will find Todai-Ji Temple- one of the largest wooden structure and famous temples in Japan. We did not get to explore further as the temple was due to close (we visited at around 4PM local time) but suggest to take some photos at the pond right in front of Todai-Ji.
Exploring the Magic of Malaysia: A Perfect Blend of Nature, Culture, and Adventure

Start your journey in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, where the iconic Petronas Twin Towers offer an impressive skyline view. The city’s vibrant markets, like the Central Market, are perfect for picking up souvenirs or tasting street food that blends Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences. Don’t miss the Batu Caves, where hundreds of steps lead you to a series of temples inside massive limestone caves.
For nature lovers, Malaysia’s rainforests are among the oldest in the world. A visit to Taman Negara National Park will immerse you in its lush greenery, with opportunities for canopy walks, jungle treks, and wildlife spotting. If you’re more into island life, head to the Perhentian Islands for crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life, ideal for diving or snorkeling.
Penang is a food lover’s paradise, where street food is an art form. From the famous char kway teow to nasi lemak, each bite offers a glimpse into Malaysia’s multicultural history. Georgetown, with its UNESCO-listed heritage sites, showcases a blend of colonial architecture and vibrant street art.
For an unforgettable experience, explore the highlands of Cameron or Genting, where cool weather, tea plantations, and theme parks await. Whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or cultural immersion, Malaysia offers an endless array of experiences that promise to leave you enchanted.

A Magical Trip to Vietnam ✨
A trip to Vietnam offers a rich tapestry of experiences, blending natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture. You might start in Hanoi, the capital, where the blend of French colonial architecture and ancient temples creates a unique atmosphere. Strolling through the Old Quarter, you’ll find bustling streets filled with vendors selling delicious street food like pho, bun cha, and egg coffee.
Next, journey to the stunning Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its emerald waters and thousands of limestone islands. Cruising through the bay, you’ll have the opportunity to kayak, visit caves, and enjoy fresh seafood.
Traveling south, you’ll reach Hue, the ancient imperial capital, home to grand palaces, temples, and tombs set along the Perfume River. The historic city offers a deep dive into Vietnam’s royal past. From Hue, head further south to Hoi An, a beautifully preserved town famous for its lantern-lit streets, charming architecture, and delicious cuisine. The blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese influences is visible everywhere, from the markets to the historical buildings.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in the south offers a contrast, with its fast-paced urban energy. The War Remnants Museum and Cu Chi Tunnels provide a sobering glimpse into Vietnam’s history during the Vietnam War. The bustling markets and rooftop bars offer a taste of modern Vietnamese life.
Finally, a trip to the Mekong Delta introduces you to Vietnam’s rural side, where floating markets and traditional villages line the rivers, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling cities. Throughout the journey, the hospitality and warmth of the Vietnamese people make every experience even more memorable.

FOMO me booked a trip to JAPAN to see the Gundam
Just back from my third Japan trip (will share in a later post) however this got me reminiscing about my first time going to Japan.
I’m the typical tourist influenced by Japanese culture. Therefore I chose to go Japan after saving up enough from my paycheques 😂 + I saw that the Yokohama Gundam factory was going to close down, so FOMO me booked a trip immediately!!!
To summarise, I was excited, but also terrified because I had no idea how to travel Surprisingly, things were pretty simple, because the signs were in different languages.
For my first time here, I did what I would think of as the “Tourist bare minimum” which is to go to the sightseeing points that everybody is listing down online. I would say it’s a safe way to explore, especially when you don’t know a lot about how things work in another country.
PLACES I WENT
- Shinjuku (Kabuki-cho tower, ToHo cinemas - Godzilla head)
- Shibuya (Scramble, 109, Donki)
- Tokyo (Tokyo train station)
- Mount Fuji
- Kamakura
- Yokohama (Gundam factory)
I would suggest renting bicycles or scooters, especially in areas outside of the city because there is a lot of walking involved and waiting of buses. But do know that if you are renting in high human traffic areas, it will be a hassle to the locals as well as other pedestrians
ESSENTIALS:
- Power Bank
- Google maps
- CASH
- Physical credit/ debit
- Suica (in Apple wallet or physical ones)
Everyone advises that cash must be brought around everywhere because not all the businesses except cards. This is very true.
Another thing to note is that the businesses usually needs you to present a physical card for paying because they can’t do pay wave or tapping.

Very beautiful castle with easy to photo
If you want to take a photo on Hall of Mirror in Versailles palace , but you cannot because of too much people. I recommend you go to Hotel de la Marine in Paris.
Hôtel de la Marine was used to be home of the royal Garde-Meuble. After the French Revolution, it became the Ministry of the Navy til 2015. The building was renovated from 2015 to 2021.
In the present,it was open for people to take a look for many stuff. And also, it has audio guide to tell you about this building and the history of it.
It is very beautiful, you should not miss this palace. It is very easily for you to take photos. Just prepare your dress and camera. You will get nice pictures.

You must visit this Island in Thailand! 🇹🇭 Koh Lanta!
I ended up spending almost a month on Koh Lanta in Thailand, I fell in love! It is less touristy than other Islands and I appreciated this. There is so much beautiful beach with no one to be seen, so calm and peaceful. I loved watching the sunsets from here every day.
🏍️ You would be best to get around the island on a bike, but taxis are available
🥥 So many fresh coconuts here
🥗 Visit Lanta Old Town for restaurants, bars and shops
🚤 Get a speedboat to visit Koh PhiPhi
🤿 If you can only do one. I suggest snorkelling on Koh (Ko) Rok

Discover the beauty of Folsom Lake Natoma in California

Nestled in Sacramento County, this 500-acre recreational lake is a watersports hub and a great place for a day out. Locals usually go sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding here.
This is hidden gem. Not expecting such a peaceful and beautiful environment. Even the ducks and animals are so comfortable to be around you, close! Really peaceful and good for family and specially for kids. I would recommend coming here in June-August so you can enjoy the water and BBQ . It’s also nice to walk around and see the beautiful trees and plants sway in the awesome weather!
Visitors normally drop by the Folsom Heritage Old Town as well which is scenic spot and have a good meals at the restaurants there.
Discover the Famous Scenic Lake Tahoe Emerald Bay in Summer
#staycation #laketahoe #naturalwonders #thingstodo#familytravel #myitinerary
This is a stunning place, highly recommended. The beauty of the park and lake are breathtaking especially during summer.
While staying at Lake Tahoe we drove early one morning to Emerald Bay. Lucky we went early as we got the last carpark spot so best to make it a early start The views from the road are stunning, it is a nice walk down to the water/ beach on a good surface track. It is steep so as the sign says if you maybe can’t walk back up don’t walk down. Summer is the peak season, if possible avoid weekend which is slightly less crowded.
At the little beach area, you can hire kayaks/ boats there which looked very popular, by the time we left there were a lot of boats out. The little island just out from the beach area must be one of the most photographed places in the country.
Discover the Splendid View of 17 miles drive at California
The drive gives you the very best views of the California coast. For a fee of $11 the drive takes you around the Monterey Peninsula. The fee allows you to go as often as you like on that day and we took full advantage of that. The scenery is truly spectacular.
Follow the red dashed path and see stunning shorelines, birds, gold courses and phenomenal mansions. You do not want to rush this drive, take the time to stop and take it all in. We caught the sunset at the Lone Cypress; AMAZING!!
Highly recommend and would do this drive again. High season be prepared for lots of traffic.

Kanazawa: A Step Back in Time
Kanazawa felt like stepping back in time.
We strolled through Kenrokuen Garden, where every turn revealed perfectly placed streams, bridges, and bursts of autumn colors.
In the old samurai district, we walked narrow streets lined with wooden houses, imagining the lives that once filled them.
Kanazawa Castle stood proud nearby, its white walls gleaming against the sky as we explored the grounds and admired the intricate wooden interiors.
Before leaving, we treated ourselves to desserts topped with Kanazawa’s famous gold leaf—a little touch of luxury that made the day even more unforgettable.
Kanazawa’s charm was quiet yet unforgettable. It blends history and nature so seamlessly that we felt like we were part of its story, even if just for a day. ☺️ #voyagevibes #travel #thingstodo #myitinerary #japan

Journey Through Time at Maruoka Castle
Maruoka Castle, built in the 1570s, is one of Japan’s oldest, and it was humbling to stand before something so steeped in history.
As we approached the castle grounds, the towering structure of the main keep emerged from the trees. Its ancient wooden walls stand strong against the test of time. It was easy to imagine samurais once walking the very paths we tread, centuries ago.
The climb up to the top of the keep was a little steep, but the view from the top of the castle keep was breathtaking—rolling hills, the quiet town of Maruoka, and the distant mountains painted a picture of Japan’s natural beauty.
We ended our visit by sitting outside, enjoying the serenity of the surrounding park. It was a peaceful moment, the kind that makes you pause and reflect. 🏯 #voyagevibes #myitinerary #travel #thingstodo
Beautiful temple in the city centre of Chongqing
#chinatrip
I’m so glad I made it to Luohan Temple during my solo trip to Chongqing! Nestled right in the bustling shopping district of Jiefangbei, the temple is incredibly easy to access by Metro, making it a convenient stop even for those with a packed itinerary.
What struck me most was the transformation I felt upon entering the temple grounds. Surrounded by modern high-rises, Luohan Temple feels like a portal to another time, seamlessly blending into its urban surroundings while offering a stark contrast between Chongqing’s fast-paced cosmopolitan vibe and its rich historical roots. Despite being located in such a busy area, the temple exudes a calm and peaceful energy, making it a perfect retreat for meditation or quiet reflection.
Dating back to the late Tang Dynasty (618–907), Luohan Temple stands as a testament to Chongqing’s enduring cultural legacy. While it has undergone several renovations over the centuries, it remains a historically significant site and a vital center of Buddhist culture in the city. The highlight of the temple is undoubtedly the 500 life-sized Arhat (Luohan) statues, each uniquely crafted with its own expression and pose. Walking through the hall was mesmerizing—a true celebration of artistic and spiritual craftsmanship.
The temple’s traditional Chinese Buddhist architecture is breathtaking, with grand halls, intricate wood carvings, and serene courtyards that encourage you to slow down and appreciate every detail. Taking your time here is essential to fully absorb the beauty and serenity it offers.
If you’re planning a trip to Chongqing, I highly recommend adding Luohan Temple to your itinerary. Whether you’re praying, burning incense, making offerings, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, this temple offers an incredible blend of history, spirituality, and cultural insight. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!
