🏡 Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat or Wat Phra Borommathat Mueang Cheliang and also known as "Wat Phra Prang", Si Satchanalai Historical Park is located outside the walls of the old city of Si Satchanalai. It is a large group of ancient sites and a royal temple of the Ratchaworawihan level. There are important ancient sites in the temple, such as the main prang, which is made of laterite plastered with cement in an architecture from the Ayutthaya period. Inside the prang, there are still traces of mural paintings, but they have faded a lot. 🛕 In front of the prang, there is a chapel inside which enshrines a large Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture and on the right is a stucco Buddha image in the walking posture. Let's come to the temple wall. Here, there will be large round stones and platforms arranged close together in a rectangle, 60 meters wide and 90 meters long. Above the archway, it is made to look like a roof spire. With the intention of presenting both art and local ingredients through the cupcake, the main ingredients are used instead of flour, which is the recipe of "Suk Samo", making it unique and different from anyone else. 🏡 Camping Calling - Sukhothai Cafe' is a cool cafe in Sukhothai decorated in a camping style. Those who like to chill shouldn't miss it. It feels like we're really camping. There are props, tents, and corners for us to take pictures and share them on social media without limits. 🏚 The interior of the shop is decorated in a cool loft style, giving it a different feel. You can get 2 types of pictures in one place. ☕ The menu has both Coffee & Non-coffee drinks. If you want to cool down, the shop also has Sundae ice cream that is low fat. Stepping into Wat Traphang Thong was akin to entering a time portal, transporting me to the glory days of the Sukhothai kingdom. Nestled in the heart of the ancient city, this temple, surrounded by a moat, stood as a living testament to Thailand's rich history and spiritual heritage. I found myself an #urbanexplorer treading the hallowed grounds where countless devotees had once congregated. The chedis and Buddha statues, worn by time, yet preserved with reverence, radiated a sense of peace, their silent stories speaking volumes of Thailand's past. This is the only resort hotel located within the airport grounds. Absolutely lovely and super convenient. Set amidst lush green rice fields, the hotel is within 40 minutes to the historical parks. Spacious, peaceful and definitely soul-lifting 🩶 The setting is wonderful, the design of the hotel is splendid. Loved the resort layout, contemporary with elegant interior elements reflecting the ancient architecture. Trip to Sukhothai Province of Thailand Attractions: This old capital of Thailand were built more than 700 years ago. Main attractions are the Sukhothai historical park and Si Satchanalai historical park. There is a 40 km distance between the two of them. If you wanna make it all, get a car rental is the best way to explore these ancient city. But if you do not have that much time, I suggest to visit the Sukhothai historical park first and the Si Satchanalai could be a plus. Getting There: By Air, Bangkok Airway fly directly to/from BKK airport. By Train, Sawankhalok Station is a main and only intercity station in the province. It is located between those two historical parks. By Car, It is about 6hr drive from BKK.
